Sorry for the double post. I had Chris email the consulate and he just informed me that they will accept the new I-134 in our case! Thank goodness. So I have another question too. I keep seeing people post about tax transcripts. I didn't notice anything in the I-134 instructions that said I needed these. I just mailed a copy of my last income tax return (even though the instructions only said to do so if you're self employed). Our co-sponsor is retired so I sent copies of his last three income tax returns. Will this be alright or do they require tax transcripts?

We didn't provide tax trancripts - just a copy of his W2 for 2008. We also submitted a letter from his employer, a bank statement with his savings (which is pretty hefty) and then his pay stubs and the I-134. They didn't ask us any questions about our income or support. But, if they looked at his income and savings, I'm pretty sure that there was nothing to ask really, it was all ver self explanatory in our case.

They did ask us about health insurance, which I thought was funny. She just asked if he had health insurance that I could join on when I moved and told me that my Canadian healthcare would be forfeited and made sure that I understand that.

We gave the new I-134 form and also had it notarized just to be sure. We just asked the bank teller to notarize it - it's free and was easy so we figured we might as well.

Like Jenni & Bo - they also gave back all the pictures we sent in with our file.

I'll write a full review later, although my experience was pretty much bang on to what everyone else experienced. The employees were extremely nice.

Excellent, I think I sent everything I needed to then! Thanks! Chris is planning on using some kind of travel insurance when he moves down here. His parents used to make him get it when he'd come to visit me for weeks at a time. I'm not sure how much he's looked into it for when he moves down here or how long it will be good for. I think it's through CIBC if anyone's interested. I had planned on putting him on my plan at work, but my insurance sucks!

Well that was easy! All the reviews and experiences contained in this thread match my own, so I'll just provide some abbreviated notes:

-Arrived outside by 6:55 and was 3rd in line. All applicants were processed by 9:15 or so. Interviews began at 9:25 and lasted about 5-10 minutes each, with a break of 5 minutes between each interview. I was called at 9:50 and was out by 9:55.

-The guard asked us to line up to the LEFT of the doors, so if you are first go to the left side under the camera.

-While you are waiting for the elevator (past security) take the time to assemble the paperwork as indicated on the provided handout (passport, photos, police clearance, medical results, affidavit of support). Clip it together with the letter-card (e.g., A, B, C...) that they give you. If you do this now, you won't be asked for the paperwork in the clip later.

-Your letter on the letter-card indicates the order that you'll be called for interviews. However, it does not indicate what order you'll be called for paperwork and fingerprints. Everyone gets processed (paperwork + payment) before the interviews start so don't worry about getting called out of order for the first phase.

-Remember to photocopy the inside (picture page) of your passport because they ask for it.

-You get back your original Birth Certificate and they keep a copy... but they keep the original Police Certificate.

-You don't need to bring your chest x-ray unless the doctor discussed TB with you.

-I was asked an abbreviated set of questions: how did we meet, when did we meet, where we plan to stay, what my job is, what her job is... and i'm pretty sure that's it. We talked about health insurance and how I would no longer have any once i move there. She did not ask me about the proposal, though she did note that my fiancee and i had known each other since 2002 and lived together for 2 years so maybe that's why it was not important in the interview (she said we had plenty of time to think it over).

-The new un-notarized versions of the I-134 are accepted.

-There's really no reason to get nervous or anxious in the waiting room. The interview itself takes only a fraction of the time that you'll be there. just be prepared for a lot of waiting.

Congrats to everyone who had their interview since I said Congrats last LOL! The interview really is the easiest part, and I was so happy with how nice they were.

As for Tax Transcripts or w-2;s, you can take them, but they dont need them. Some other countries require it, but we don't (or it would have been on the sheet for the 1-134). You WILL need 3 years worth of Tax returns for your AOS, so you might wanna get the USC to start getting them now :)

Well well Bauser ... Looks like i was first today .. I WON ... hahaha .. congrats to you ... they didn't even ask me for the photo copy of my passport .. nor did they ask for any evidence of our relatioship .. but just so you all know if you bring any greeting cards just like i did make sure you do not bring any of the ones that play music .. i had one of those in with my cards and had to search for which one it was and they held onto it ... but like everyone said it is the easiest part of it all and they are pretty friendly ... and yes i was approved today also so yay for us

To all the ppl hoping for an April/May interview:

I am completely annoyed here. COMPLETELY....First, I wanna say i have been VERY patient in this all things considered. I have only called and email a handful of times. More so in the last few weeks because I am not at home now and won't see my mail so calling/emailing is best for me.

First, I sent my packet 3 in January 19th, so I was expecting April interview,. early May at worst. ANYWAY....................I emailed Montreal this morning, and asked if I could expect an April interview or should I plan for May?

They said this:

"Could be May or June 2009.

Thanks,

OP2"

OH HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO.

I am telling my fiancé to contact his congressman. First, our NOA2 was approved in October and EVEN THOUGH WE INDICATED ON THE FORM we wanted to deal with MONTREAL (I lived in Korea at the time but was coming back to Canada within the next few months I filed and NEW that I was going to be in Canada and NOT Korea). So, low and behold our file was sent to KOREA (I was in Canada now). UGH.

Back and forth from Montreal to Korea we got different stories. Montreal: "Korea needs to request the file". Korea: "MOntreal needs to request it" #######!! Finally Korea said they sent it over, ok. We wait 3 weeks (me thinking it was on its way to Montreal from Korea), I contact Montreal..nothing. ####### how long does it take to send something in the mail?? Call Korea and they tell me, "It was not sent and Montreal has to request it" R U KIDDING ME!!! WE ARE BACK HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!HOW CAN SO MANY PPL BE INCOMPETENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, we had 4 way emails now...me, my fiancé, Montreal and Korea so that WE ALL could get our stories straight. My fiancé sent a nasty letter to both of them and Montreal sent an in depth letter explaining the mix-up. Whatever, OK. Fine.

So, THREE MONTHS LATER, it is in January and we got our packet 3. THREE FRIGGAN MONTHS!!! I literally send it back the SAME DAY, OVERNIGHT EXPRESS. So, I get it January 19th, send it back same day (even tho Canada Post sucks and it actually took 2 days....got my money back tho ;) It gets there on January 21st.

So....I think we should be a little bumped on the list a bit seeing as we have waiting SO long for a LOT OF PPL's COMPLETE INCOMPETENCY. I have seen ppl send in there stuff for January and HAVE ALREADY HAD A MARCH INTERVIEW. Or at LEAST April!!!! #######!!!

How does this happen?? Now they are saying MAY OR JUNE EVEN!!!!!!!!

I am sooooooooo peed off right now. I have been extremely patient. I know this takes time and I was set up for this. But come on.

UGH.

Rant over :)

Has anyone reading this sent in their packet later then January 20th and already scheduled for an interview?

December 2008 - NON-legal wedding ceremony in Honduras

January 19th, 2009 - P3 finally arrives to correct consulate AND me!!

January 19th, 2009 - "Overnighted" P3 back same day. I am so efficient!!

January 23rd, 2009 - Montreal finally gets it. "Overnight" my a**!! Money refunded to me from Canada Post...ASAH!
