Nothing yet about our case, the last light it was a touched in 06/20....AHHHHHHHH I`m going crazy!!!!! 7 months waiting!!!! Its unbelieveble!!!!:help:

Hey Chris e Jessica! Our timeline is somewhat similar to yours. We also had an update in June... But we're still here, waiting and suffering. I've lost all my hopes about spending Christmas in the US with my husband because even if we get approved tomorrow, I don't think they would have a date available for us at the consulate before January. They are always so busy in December.

Anyway, I wish we all could get the approval soon.

Good Luck!

Rock on, MM.. great stuff.

Hey CJ-Vasani - when you read this. It's CJgator. Any new word? I've had nothing on mine either since the notice that it was sent to an officer on 11-1. I am seeing now that the agents at VSC and National are becoming more and more of a pain in the a*s and not willing to divulge anything. I have run into brick walls for the last 2 days, after a successful information gathering day on Monday.

MESSAGE TO ALL OF US - WHETHER YOU LIKE OBAMA OR NOT (AND I VOTED FOR MCCAIN, BECAUSE OF TAXES, AFTER A LONG STRUGGLE ON ON THE DECISION), I HAVE GREAT CONFIDENCE HE IS THE BETTER MAN TO HELP ADVANCE OUR CAUSE ON THIS WHOLE IMMIGRATION ISSUE.

Take it easy.

-CJ

I'm so scared and happy. Finally, we received our approvals ! It's hard to believe. Please update on the time line (11/3--APPROVED for both I-129F & I-130. Ironically, this notice came a week after I sent letters to the Comgressional members of the USCIS Oversight Committee--nine senators & my state's Rep. Do you guys remember the letter I posted here for others to use? I think that had something to do with our positive response after this long period. I don't know what to do next. Good luck to you guys and read the letter; it's with my posts. All the best--Amor1

No more news from VSC, but I spoke to my congressman's immigration who is sick of me calling and e-mailing. He told me that both of my applications are with an officer...and as long as there is no delay in background check, I should be hearing something soon. I hope that my congressman's aide is not annoyed enough to purposely delay my applications. he can't do that, right? that would be illegal...I must stop bothering him he is a nice guy.

Hey CJ, how long did it take for the senator/representative to get back to you? It'll be a week tomorrow and all I've received is an acknowledgment so I need to follow up. I just didn't want to be pain in the ### from the beginning.

Hey CJ-V, I'll respond to you question, and indirectly a little to Desi's.

I think there is a fine line than we, as petitioners, can take with being aggressive about requests, whether it be with our congressman, or directly with USCIS. CJ-V, I've debated with myself about this issue of aggressively dealing with your congressman for help. I do think it would be techincally illegal for them to do something intentionally to derail your efforts, because they got tired of hearing from you. But - I do think we all have to keep one thing in mind. USCIS has great power and latitude to deny an application for any reason, even something as minor as a small typo in the application, or they can make a determination that you didn't provide "enough" supporting evidence to prove that your marriage was legitimate. And, that reason - the last one - is the one that gives them a sort of "catch all" power to deny any application they want, with virtually no ability for us to challenge the denial. A nightmare scenario could be where a congressman gets tired of dealing with a certain person on the matter, they place a call to USCIS staff, and say something like - "Hey, can you make sure you are doing a REALLY THOROUGH search of CJ-V's application to make sure everything is in order?" There's nothing technically wrong with that, but it could send a message that if they can find some way to squash the app, there's a green light.

I would say a smilar thing for dealing directly with USCIS. I do have a fear that if I call up there TOO frequently and poke around, one or more of the agents will become familiar with who I am, become annoyed by me, and start passing the message around the VSC office to "go through CJ-G's application with a microscope".

Maybe I have been watching too many Oliver Stone movies, and have become a conspiracy theorist. But, I certainly wouldn't put past them. It is one of the reasons I'm gonna back off calling them for a few days and wait to see if anything comes down the pipe.

Rock on, MM.. great stuff.

Well, I called USCIS today becasue our case will be outside normal processing time (tomorrow heh). I talked to Laura and she said.. "yes, you are outside normal times, let me get some information from you"..:waiting: then "umm, it wont let me put the service request in becasue it says VSC is working on petitions dated March 4th" I said, well thats not what is posted. She said well, it wont let me put it in... Let me put you on hold and see if there is anything else I can do for you. I said thank you of course.

So I was transferred to officer boswell. She was pretty unhappy and seemed a little annoyed that Laura transferred me to her. I told her what Laura said and she said "I dont know what she thought I could do, we work on the same system"

Long story short, and ms Boswell and I goin back and forth. Her saying "you need to understand that those times posted are ESTIMATES(like im retarded). I said ma'am, I know the meaning of the word estimate and approximation, but we are talking about a difference of 60 days..2 months. What can I do? She said.. you just need to realize that your cse is going to take a little bit longer.

I just kept persisting and she finally said that she COULD do a inquiry service request. I asked what that meant and she said that they "take a look at your case and see why it is taking so long". I said fantastic! lets do that.

She took some info..phone email ect and asked if my 129f was for a fiance' and I said, no its k3 (she got ALOT nicer) and said she totally understands that this is my husband and they developed the k3 to expedite the process for us . :D

Annnnyway, they now have 30 days to tell me why the case hasnt been adjudicated.

yeah!!!!!

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Hello. I'm sorry that you guys haven't heard anything yet. We were approved on 11/3/08 two weeks after I sent a letter to nine senators & our state's Rep about the delays at VSC and overall, with this entire process. A few days after I started receiving personal messages from the senators who siton the Judiciary Subcommittee that oversees USCIS, I checked online, and there was the approval notice. I received the hard copies (I130 & I129F) in the mail yesterday. When I wrote this letter, I wasn't just thinking of "our" situation; in fact, I encouraged everyone at VJ to send it with their receipt numbers & names, so that the senators could see just how many of us are affected by this. I'm not sure how many vjers downloaded and forwarded this letter, but I truly believed it helped us. Perhaps, if you haven't, you guys could giev it a try. Just check my posts here, and you'll find it. All the best--Amor1

hey, guys! My husband tried to call VSC using that menu options posted in one of our recent threads... He was going to make the status inquiry thing because we are past the 6 months for our I-129F and stuff. But he said that all 3 times, 3 different persons said that they were not the right person who could do that for him... So maybe my husband pressed the wrong buttons 3 times OR the 3 persons at VSC are lying when they say they cannot do that... I don't know if my husband is treated differently because he has an accent or something like that.

Were all of you (who called) able to make the inquiry normally? Has anyone been through something different? Is there any key word/specific way of saying things that will help?

Thanks

No, they are full of #######...I was talking to one guy about an inquiry why I didn't recieve receipts yet for my step kids and it's been over 1 month. He said he would begin an inquiry. I didn't have my check numbers, so he said to call back because he needs all the information to do the inquiry. I call back and get another idiot that says he can't do anything, then forwards me after waiting so long to his supervisor, and her voicemail picks up. Yeah, I'm sure she's gonna call me...NOT.

Now that we are back to a 'normal' week until Friday, let's hope we see some approvals for the fellow VJ members that are due for an approval. Like Desiman, Jeca, CJGator, yours truly, wisdom, SraCastillo, etc.
