Timeline

hey, ive booked my flight to toronto. one way. then will drive down through the border to buffalo. (its the cheapest and quickest way!). will they let me in when i only have a one way flight? will my k1 visa be enough to prove i wont be staying in canada. or do i need to fork out for a return flight? im totally panicing, any help would be amazing!

Our K-1 Journey

October 2002 - Fee and Josh meet in glasgow.

December 2007 - fee and josh meet again in glasgow .

Feb 2008 - Josh visits Fee in Fife.

May 2008 - Fee visits Josh in Buffalo.

06-05-2008 - Fee and Josh get engaged!! -file I129f

12-05-2008 - NO1

18-05-2008 - Touched

August 2008 - Josh visits Fee

19-09-2008 - touched!

19-09-2008 - NO2! woohoo!

02-10-2008 - Leaves NVC

11-10-2008 - Packet 3 arrives (with nothing in it! only a cover letter!)

16-10-2008 - packet 3 sent back to embassy

30-10-2008 - packet 4 arrives

13-11-2008 - medical

17-11-2008 - Interview (10am) *approved!*

25-11-2008 - visa arrives

26-11-2008 - fly to toronto (POE Buffalo)

Canada tend to be very blase about immigration. Given that you have a K1 visa in your passport, I don't see that not having a return flight would be an issue.

My husband used to fly in to Toronto all the time as it was cheaper than flying into Buffalo. He never had a problem.

does a "Scot" require a visa for entry into Canada?

No.

you don't need a visa for canada and if they have any issues flash the K1 and explain. I'm sure some immigration folk out there have a heart. Even though it seems the ones in Chicago have theirs made of stone. Saying that, 1 actually cracked a smile the last time I went through.

07/09/2007 - NOA1 (hard copy 07/11/2007)

11/13/2007 - NOA2...127days after filing (hard copy 11/17/07)

12/22/2007 - packet 3 rec. (12/28/2007 returned)

01/11/2008 - medical (allergic to tetanus shot, requirement waived)

02/05/2008 - interview @ 10am - APPROVED!!!!!!

03/12/2008 - Flying Glasgow - Dublin - Chicago - Omaha

05/31/2008 - WEDDING

AOS

07/31/2008 - AOS and EAD finally mailed

08/02/2008 - Delivered

08/08/2008 - Check cleared

08/11/2008 - NOA1's for AOS and EAD recieved (reciept date 08/07/2008)

08/16/2008 - Biometrics letter recieved

09/09/2008 - Biometrics at 1pm, Omaha

09/26/2008 - AOS transferred to CSC

09/29/2008 - AOS touched (took out envelope at CSC and put in new pile)

10/03/2008 - AOS touched (probably that RFE coming soon!!!!)

10/06/2008 - AOS touched AGAIN!!! (surely it's an RFE)

10/15/2008 - EAD CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!!!!YEY!!!

10/27/2008 - EAD IN HAND

01/12/2009 - AOS touched

01/26/2009 - Email from CRIS. GREENCARD PRODUCTION ORDERED..YIPPPPEEE

ROC

10/25/2010 - ROC mailed

11/15/2010 - NOA1 and check cashed

Timeline

As a good Canadian, I can tell you that the best way to breeze through Customs is to say that you're moving SOUTH to the US, where it is much warmer and balmier this time of the year. They'll whisk you on your way and be happy that someone is getting out of the miserable cold. :P

If your country isn't listed below, then you don't need a Visa to visit Canada. Which in your case, I don't think you need one.
