He's such a brutal speaker. If McCain wins on Tuesday (if), the nearly impossible will have happened. The US will have elected a President whose an even worse public speaker than Bush.

At some place in time, this "slavery history" point of argument kinda wears thin.

I'm mean lets get real, it is 2008 not 1908.

I grew up in NJ in a well mixed area. My black school mates had every opportunity that I did to go to, school study hard and make something of themselves.

Some did, some did not. Even if you did not do well in school you could go in the military, learn a some skills as well as have another opportunity to get collage for free or nearly free.

That was 40 years ago.

If there is so much discriminating going on, why do many minority groups which have a history of past discrimination doing so well? Asians and Jews, seem to be doing very well.

We have Africans immigrating here and they don't seem to have a problem furthering themselves

in fact in some parts of the country they do so well they earn more than the average whites do.

For how many more generations are we going to "feed failure" to our young Black Americans?

It's my opinion, this racism-crutch is part of whats destroying a large part of Black America.

If drop out rates there, match our schools here, 50% of black males never bother to finish high school.... who would be willing or capable to do much of a job?

There's a lot of irony here. You suggest that blacks are just as successful (nowhere around here do they, collectively, make more than whites, or even on par, and this is in the tolerant Bay Area), then turn around and cite the dropout rate, which indicates the complete opposite. Oh wait, I guess because Oprah and Shaq are rich, that means blacks are doing fine, and have just the same opportunity, and discrimination doesn't exist. My bad. No problems here. Move along.

I agree completely with this. I'll also add my Jamaican husband came here 2.5 years ago now and had had issues whatsoever.
