I have a question. I have been reading stuff on here and I am just curious if my finacee has to get a police record to take to his interview and What are the x-rays for do they do that there or does he get done before hand. And what kind of medical examination does he need can he go to his regular doctor to do that. I am just getting everything ready and make sure he has everything need before he goes to his interview. And what original copies does he need from me. I appreciate the help.

Once he receives his packet from the U.S. Embassy consular office, he will have all the instructions needed to apply for his visa. In most cases, this includes a list of medical doctors who are approved by the Department of State for the pre-interview medical exam. You must provide the affidavit of support together with the required financial documentation

For the UK there is only one place you can go for the medical. It's in London. They will do the xray and I believe its sent to the embassy directly. You must apply for the police cert well in advance (it can take over a month) and have this with you at the interview. Head over to the UK forum for more specifics. It's been over a year for us, I don't remember the exact procedure :)
