I hope that just getting to the US was not the motive for the OP, however it will sound fishy to the USCIS. Citizenship - Divorce USC - marry childhood sweetheart back home and get her here - Will probably not go down too well.

I also agree with another poster about wanting to move back to my country if the marriage didn't work out or something happened. Thats exactly what I would want to do. Specially coz I entered the marriage for love and couldn't handle everything here reminding me of us + I would need my friends, family and familiar environment too. I don't think I would be able to think of another relationship let alone marriage so soon.

... I HATE that this happens to people. It makes me want to yell "the marriage didnt work, get the hell out! go home now!"

Its b.s really. I f I moved to another country to be with my spouse and we ended up in D... I would go the heck home to my family.

Even if I had been there for years.. I would have went to that country to BE WITH MY LOVED ONE. Not to live there afterwards. GRRRRRRRRRR

I cant stand the threads from people saying.. it didnt work out, what can i do?? answer: you came here to be with your husband/wife..thats over now.. go home

ok. I got that out of my system.

sorry that was a little more aggressive than usual lol

I agree with you. My ex-wife has remarried (VERY quickly after our divorce - within 31 or 32 DAYS - BIG red flag!) and is doing whatever it takes for her to stay in the U.S. - after I married her for love, brought her to this country, and got her Conditional Green Card. And that's when it really went downhill. Final count: Me: Bankruptcy - financial ruin after being forced to support her during separation before divorce was final - over 1 year. Divorce.

Ex-wife: Financial gain of about $45,000 to $50,000 in the past year. That would be equivalent to about 75 years' salary (at her most current rate - according to her) in her country (Russia).

I understand she's going to have a hard time getting permanent residency based on the quick (lightning) re-marry and because I filed for divorce less than one year after marriage (she had only been in the U.S. for two weeks when she physically abused me, have a police report about it). We had reconciled, but it only lasted long enough for her to get her conditional green card, then she went psycho again.

Austin, Im so sorry that happened to you. It is probably of no comfort, but I truley beleive that people get what they dish out in life.

I think there should be something in play to stop this type of thing from happening. like:

Yes, you got the g.c, but it was based on a family immigration application... If you are no longer a "family member" of the usc.. go home. I guess there would need to be something to give people a grace period if it was the USC who "abondoned them" (if that was the case)

ya, I said it..

oh ya, and if it was an abuse case... then the usc petitioner should be jailed (if applicable for the abuse) and forced to pay the way home of the immigrant

You know, it's all the people that lied and used other people that is making us all suffer now. That is why it's taking over 1 year to process an application. Thanks to these jerks that made them view all of us as frauds...and also take up time and a spot in the line of applications...

sympathy for those of you USC women that have been taken by MENA men. they come from a different culture, and do not have respect for women, in general, much less for foriegn women.

i understand the whole hybrid vigour attraction thing, but think you would fare better hunting a little closer to home. much easier for us guys, unless we get a nasty russian or asian. after 10 years divorced i finally married a chinese, but only because i had been able to live with her for 2 years, first.

habibi,

think about some of the immigrants there and what they do to the women, leaving them with kids to raise on their own.

Its the closest thing I can think of to compare to how we feel about people who come here and use the citizens

:)

Not everyone is bad.. but the ones that are, shouldnt get to reap the benefits

love you

ok back

What exactly do you base this opinion on sharpshooter?

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Oh get over yourself...if you were such a great catch as an American man you wouldn't have to go all the way to China to find a wife...who by the way, could just as easily be using you too. Life's not so great in China!

I'm so sick of people saying that MENA men are bad. You know what? If Muslim men follow their religion and culture, then they make the BEST husbands in the world! They support their wives financially, handle all the responsibilities, and secure her and the children. They don't drink, go out to clubs and bars, cheat, and waste their time and money on frivilous things. If they don't follow their religion and culture and choose to act like the typical playboys that we have here in the US, then yeah, they do make lousy husbands!
