The post office here is quite reliable. Just be sure to get a return receipt and have the package tracked.

Yup. USPS Priority Mail is good enough. You can also track them. Thai Mom is right. Besides, the big three (Fedex, DHL, UPS) don't deliver to PO Boxes.

In the December issue of Consumer's Reports that arrived in my mailbox today, the postal service was rated a much better value than FedEx or UPS, especially for next day or second day air. Only if you need a package delivered faster than next-day, do FedEx and UPS have the edge, according to the report. The report is on page 10 of the current issue.

Ground shipping evened out a bit more, with UPS being a bit more expensive than FedEx or the USPS.

Most of us want more 'bang for our buck', especially during these times. The reason the USPS has the better value is that their infrastructure has been in place for years, with carriers out six days a week.

  • 2 months later...

I just noticed that the Chicago lockbox address on USCIS website and the address provided here are slightly different.

Naimely, here on VJ it says that if I reside in TX I should mail my package to

USCIS P.O. Box 804616 Chicago, IL 60680-1029

but the USCIS home page has this address:

USCIS

P.O. Box 804616

Chicago, IL 60680-4107

The last 4 numbers differ, so I am worried now if I used 4107, did I use the right one?

Where did you guys send yours?

12/05/11.......................Filed I-751

12/06/11.......................NOA

01/03/12......................BIO

09/10/12..................... Approved

09/21/12..................... Received GC
