Ok so we are supposed to be recieving something in the mail but nothing has showed up ! I wonder if there is a delay in the mail because of the election. Or maybe it got lost in the mail ? Our I 485 case was put on hold (pending inital eveidence) as of October the 20th. I called that Number for the USCIS and they said I should recieve something on form I 797 but does not state what that is ! Does anyone know how long I should wait before going crazy ! I mean all of the papers seem to be time sensitive so does any one have any ideas ! Thanks Chuck and Teresa

Hopefully you will get it soon. Sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks for an RFE to arrive by post. We went through the same long wait so I know how stressful it can be! :crying:

When the EAD was approved, we got an email and the case was updated online . We received the card in the mail a week after getting the email.

We did not get any email or case update when our AOS interview was scheduled; just the interview notice in the mail. There will be email and case updated online if your case is transferred to a Service Center (that usually means the case will be approved without an interview).

The day of our AOS interview, we were told we were approved. About 10 hours after our interview, we got an email and case status updated online, the email said, "Card Production Ordered". The next day, we got an email that said, "Welcome Notice Sent". After 6 days, we got the Welcome Notice in the post. The day after we received the Welcome Notice, we got an email saying, "Approval Notice Sent". After only two days, we received the Approval Notice and in that letter was the green card.

We did not have RFE for AOS but we had one for the I-129F. We got the email about the RFE and then 10 days later, got it in the mail. We had 87 days to send in the information, if it didn't arrive before that time, then the case would be rejected.

Notice of Action (NOA) Types:

I-797C = Receipt Notice (NOA1)

I-797E = RFE (Request for Evidence)

I-797 = Approval Notice (NOA2)
