Just called Nvc this morning and our DS 3032 and DS I-864 fee bill were generated May 29th.

So.......

Regarding DS3032

According to pinned instructions here, I can write our case number where it askes for the bar code. Do I just write over the printing ther or cover it and then write our case number? They also sent a copy of DS 3032 to USC along with the fee bill. Is this just for his records? Or shoud I just sent E-Mail for the DS 3032 . What is the address to mail this back to as I have it ready to go?

Tom is here is Canada now but in a remote fishing camp until Sat. and then is staying with me for about a week after. We just had a feeling all this would happen while he was here. He will have to do I-864 when he gets home.

Regarding I-864

Does the co-sponsor fill out I-864 or I-864A? There are no household members involved.

How long after we return these forms will they send out DS-230? Will they need my original Birth Cert., marriage cer., police reports etc. when we send the DS-230 as I am waitng for Packet 4 from Montreal and will need them for the K3 inerview (hopefully soon) Yes - I only have one copy of each.

Any idea how long the I-130 process will take from this point and should I continue with K3? I plan on going back to Montreal for interwiew rather than apply for Adjust. of Stat.

Any thoughts and info appreciated.

Thanks

NVC has been accepting an email for your Choice of Agent. Many members have used this method without any being refused to my knowledge. Use the example one in the pinned thread. It eliminates the DS-3032. They will then send you confirmation.

Regarding I-864

Does the co-sponsor fill out I-864 or I-864A? There are no household members involved

How Do I File an Affidavit of Support?

You should complete an I-864 Affidavit of Support when your relative has been scheduled for an immigrant visa interview with a consular officer overseas or when your relative is about to submit an application for adjustment to permanent resident status with the USCIS or with an Immigration Court in the United States. If you have a joint sponsor, the joint sponsor must also complete USCIS Form I-864 at this time. If you are using the income of other household members to qualify, then each household member who is accepting legal responsibility for supporting your relative must complete a separate USCIS Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member

DS-230 Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants (applying in Albania, Canada, Lebanon, Philippines, Turkey, United Arab Emirates or on the continent of Africa)

http://travel.state.gov/pdf/applying_in.pdfFollow the instructions for what you are required to submit.

If you are using James Shortcuts you can reduce the time it takes to process through NVC. Approx. 2-3 months depending on how quick the exchanges are and also on any reviews by NVC.

Totally up to you if you want to go ahead with the K-3 or not.....Enter the US on the K-3 and return for the CR-1 when your petition reaches the embassy/consulate and an interview scheduled....or you can delay the scheduling of the K-3 interview and then wait for the I-130 petition to process through NVC and for them to schedule an interview, whereby the approved I-130 for CR-1 will over-ride the approved I-129F for the K-3.

Update:

Apparently when the Capt'n did major server updates the other day there is now a compatibilty issue regarding the barcoded cover sheets. He is working on it and hopefully it will be rectified soon.

Lorelle,

Thanks for your work. I have also noticed the same thing. Hopefully, they will be resolved very soon. Hey, your interview is knocking at the door. You will do fine and get the visa right away. Perhaps, they can offer you to take a position at the consulate because of your immigration knowledge!

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

As soon as they get your DS3032, they will send out the DS-230. I don't think that delaying submission of the I-864 will delay your DS-230.

For CR-1, they will need all those certificates. I know it's a tough choice sometimes. I had to apply for two certificates including police certificates from 2 other countries. For the interview in Montreal, it's taking about 4 months from case complete to interview date.

I'm just slightly ahead of you. Have a look at my signature.

cygnet, you forgot the IV bill in between the DS-3032 and the DS-230 ;) According to the NVC flowchart, the I-864 is completely independent of the DS-3032/IV/DS-230 track, so yes, delaying the I-864 should have no effect on the DS-230.

regarding opening the documents on the timesavers thread, you can do a right click and "save As" and if the name of the file in the box is index.php, delete it and make a different name (maybe "coversheet"), and end it with .doc, so you'd put coversheet.doc in there. ttyl,
