Can anyone deny.... if you separate what Obama "does"... from what he "says".... you see a whole different guy.

I admit I was taken in by his speeches at first, but it seems with every bit of "fact" that comes out about the guy, clearly shows him to be a B.S artist.

I am amazed that so many people can keep making up excuse after excuse to explain away... every thing we know about him.

We know Obama has several relatives living in squaller as he lives the Millionaire life.

He preaches to us about "taking care of our fellow man" yet he has no desire to help his own family.

When he was searching for his roots, he went to Kenya and FOUND all these family members which he wrote about in his book.

One would think he would have enrolled them in collage or trade school and helped them to a better life. He has all these great ideas about getting our economy going, why didn't he go to his families village and help bring about Change there, started businesses or opened a school.

It seems Oprah had no trouble doing it.

I just don't understand Barack, these are just the "basic" things any decent human does to help family.

WASHINGTON – Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.

Zeituni Onyango, 56, referred to as "Aunti Zeituni" in Obama's memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango's case.

Information about the deportation case was disclosed and confirmed by two separate sources, one of them a federal law enforcement official. The information they made available is known to officials in the federal government, but the AP could not establish whether anyone at a political level in the Bush administration or in the McCain campaign had been involved in its release.

Onyango's refusal to leave the country would represent an administrative, non-criminal violation of U.S. immigration law, meaning such cases are handled outside the criminal court system. Estimates vary, but many experts believe there are more than 10 million such immigrants in the United States.

The AP could not reach Onyango immediately for comment. A reporter went to her home Friday night and no one answered the door. A neighbor said she was often not home on the weekend. Also, Onyango did not immediately return a telephone or written message left at her home. It was unclear why her request for asylum was rejected in 2004.

The Obama campaign declined to comment late Friday night.

Onyango is not a relative whom Obama has discussed in campaign appearances and, unlike Obama's father and grandmother, is not someone who has been part of the public discussion about his personal life.

A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, Kelly Nantel, said the government does not comment on an individual's citizenship status or immigration case.

Onyango's case — coming to light just days before the presidential election — led to an unusual nationwide directive within Immigrations and Customs Enforcement requiring any deportations prior to Tuesday's election to be approved at least at the level of ICE regional directors, the U.S. law enforcement official told the AP.

The unusual directive suggests that the Bush administration is sensitive to the political implications of Onyango's case coming to light so close to the election.

Kenya is in eastern Africa between Somalia and Tanzania. The country has been fractured in violence in recent years, including a period of two months of bloodshed after December 2007 that killed 1,500 people.

The disclosure about Onyango came just one day after Obama's presidential campaign confirmed to the Times of London that Onyango, who has lived quietly in public housing in South Boston for five years, was Obama's half aunt on his father's side.

It was not immediately clear how Onyango might have qualified for public housing with a standing deportation order.

I would have thought that all this means is that the media is a double edged sword. The fact that he is in the public eye means his family at large might come under scruntiny. What can't happen I would have thought is that her case should be expedited simply because of that fact. Her case should be treated exactly the same as any similar case.

As for what that tells us about how Obama treats his family - well, little people judge away because clearly, you know everthing about it from the media.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Obama's record with his family is to NOT spread the wealth. His aunt lives in a slum, his brother lives in a hut in Kenya, supported by other less well off family members. As a US senator, he could have easily had his aunt regularized and gotten his brother a visa, if he wanted to. But he didn't . . .

This is a guy who doesn't take care of his own, and some of you expect him to take care of you and yours.

Why?

And what would you have said about him then if he had?

I just don't know why he didn't use his position and influence.

That's what a good Republican would've done.

THAT would've been OK with everybody, right?

Especially those here that are waiting for Visas....you'd PREFER that someone

related to a politician gets in line ahead of you?

You'd respect him for taking care of his own...instead of following the rules?

THAT would win your respect and vote?

Obama is going to help you? But doesn't take care of his own family? Boy.... people are stupid.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
