On the checklist, it indicated that a A copy of the intending immigrant's birth certificate along with English translation. My wife had left this in her home in Thailand. We are unable to get the documents. I know that the embassy had requested this document and may have a copy which may have been sent to the immigration dept. Is there any other way around this requirement, I don't really how we can get the cert unless we take a flight back to her home. Any sugguestions? She was born in Phang Nga, Thailand. Thank you for any help you can provide. Will and Pan

A copy of birth cert. is one of required document so you definitely going to need it maybe you guys can ask from your family overseas and have them sent it here. Good luck!

09-16-2014---Interview (221(g) for NBI a.k.a. name, I864 Orig. Signature & NSO verification)

09-29-2014---221g documents delivered. & signed by L. Bernardino

09-30-2014---and 10-01-2014,Touched but still on AP

10-07-2014---Email sent to USEM

10-15-2014---Called USEM

10-16-2014---Sent Fax to USEM of approved expedited letter from U.S. Embassy General

10-21-2014---Touched but still on AP

10-22-2014---Visa Issued :joy:

Can't you find someone who can "fax" it to you?

Since it just has to be a copy, you don't need the original. My wife just faxed her certificate with "english" translation from Turkey, to our lawyer in the USA. Can you find someone who can get a hold of it in Thailand and get them to fax it to you?

Oct 10 ,2006 Received fee bill from NVC

Nov 13 ,2006 Received Packet 2 DS-230

Jan 4, 2007 Mailed Packet 2 to NVC

Jan 22, 2007 RFE from NVC aaarrrrgggghhh!!!!!!!!

Feb 28, 2007 NVC received "checklist" response and original documents for the RFE

March 13, 2007 Case completed at NVC! Whoooohoooo!! Ankara, here we come!!!!

March 15, 2007 Case fowarded to Ankara Embassy

April 4, 2007 Interview. Wife gets handed the little green paper. Not good. Need to submit a few more things.

April 9, 2007 Items mailed back to Embassy. Crossing fingers, rubbing the "rabbit's foot", etc,..that this may FINALLY be the end.

April 14, 2007 Visa delivered! Wife is finally going to be on her way back home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

April 20, 2007 Wife enters through JFK. The days of grabbing my dinners at the WalMart deli....are now officially over!!!

We got an RFE right off the bat for the translated BC. I don't think you can proceed without a copy. You are supposed to take the originl to the interview.

10 Nov mailed I 129F to TSC

16 Nov 29 Nov Notice date

3 Dec Received NOA 1

3 Jan 05 Please I just want to be touched

3 may 05 NOA2 E mail notification

7 May 05 Mail NOA2

11 May 05 sent petition to Bogota

18 May Packet 3 arrived

30 Oct 2008 Still nothing for step daughter. Checks still haven't cleared the bank

24 November Checks finally cleared the bank

February biometrics for wife Nothing for daughter.

We had an RFE for only sending the translation and not the Thai version.

You don't send the original in. You only need a copy. You needed one for the K-1 too.

A clear fax copy will be acceptable. Better yet, scan the documents and have them emailed. You can then use DHL or another carrier to get the originals sent in time for the interview.

BTW, what do you mean by "We are unable to obtain the documents?"

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

Pan, had stored the BC away in her home by lock and key. She has the key here with her and don't know if any of her relative can find the box which has been stored away. but now that I know that we really need it. We are going to have to send a copy of the key to one of her relative. Hopefully she can find it and can send us a copy. Thanks Everyone, you guys are so cool!
