we have health insurance.. and a good one at that but even if we only have to pay 10 percent of hospital stays or surgeries that adds up when you have a couple of hospital stays and surgeries in one year ..

Most bancruptcy in the US is as a result of difficulties paying medical expenses. Which other developed industrialized nation has this problem? Hmm, can't think of one. Still, why bother to change anything? After all, we wouldn't want to 'reward' the lazy with preventative medecine if it might save everyone money, how stupid would that be?

Oh, poor boy, perhaps you'd better tittle tattle to mommy?

now the attempts at belittling comments begin ... next up is ______

Attempts? That didn't threaten your manhood and make you feel insecure? Gosh, thicker skin than I thought.

so ... you buying the first round? I'll get the second round

Let me take a wild guess than none of you make over 250K a year? No wait I forgot every guy on the internet is 6'2", good looking, a 5th degree black belt, is dating a model & is worth about 2 million right?

you forgot to mention the 10" #######.

this sounds a lot like someone I know...hmmm...

No, it's really very sad, that there are enough people trying to drive a wedge between the have's and have nots. These people use stereotypes and generalizations to paint a picture of the way they want us to believe people are. The 'good' guys who sweat and endure and never complain or use a helping hand and the 'bad' guys who wheedle and snivel and demand and moan and complain and of course never, ever work.

The stereotypes and generalizations are true. The poor are either lazy or stupid, or both.

after going through the spouse immigration ... job changes ... twins ... etc, etc ....

I now need to become lazy and stupid to proclaim ... I'm poor ?

Anyone can become poor due to a convergence of unfortunate factors; however if you're not

lazy or stupid, you won't stay poor for long.

I agree with him on this one peeps. He has a very good point

First of all this letter is an attempt to twist the facts (shocker), much like the Joe the Plumber nonsense (a guy who isn't a licensed plumber, would actually get a tax cut under Obama's policies & isn't even named Joe). The right wingers are a sorry ### bunch... they are supporting a candidate who will give a tax break to wealthy people, while Obama will give a tax break to the middle class! You tards took it up the poop shoot for 8 years under Bush (and liked it) and now you want 4-8 more years of the same?

Can you explain how the facts are twisted? Because that's a pretty broad-brush statement to make without any of your own facts to back it up.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

FWIW, I don't think they are. I even built a timeline of his claims last night to see if the math adds up

and it does. If the story is a lie, whoever wrote it was very careful in avoiding contradictions

and incongruities.

I explained how the story twists the facts very clearly and concisely (and the story teller needs to add the word "concise" to his dictionary btw). First of all I suspect the story is a plant, but if it's real kudos to the guy for being hard working & wanting to make a good living. With that being said it sounds to me like he's over-extended (mentioned a 1.2 million dollar loan), so I don't see how that's Obama's fault. Secondly as I said earlier McCain wants to give a tax break to the rich & I'm sorry but rich, greedy bastards are half the reason why we're in the mess we have today. Sure there are going to be exceptions to this & this story apparently represents such an exception.

Now as for my background I grew up in a middle class family, put myself through college (Army college fund) & I've spent 21 years in the military (enlisted first & now an officer). I'm a Major, which comes out to roughly 100k a year with BAH (housing allowance) thrown in. Now I've worked very hard to get where I am & although I'm not rich I make enough to be comfortable. I resent the (largely false) stereotypes that individuals on this forum and Republicans in general have of non-republicans (I'm an Independent who leans Democrat these days because I feel Bush has been a horrible President). My point is that McCain is for the rich & Obama is for the Middle Class, yet due to all of the rhetoric & misinformation out there millions of people are oblivious to this fact.
