OMG>...they are saying Michigans unemployment rate is 8.9%, but so far it looks like michigan has voted for McCAin ????

yeah this anticipation is killing me!!!!!!

I heard that - worst in the US! Do you see it Honey?

I have been sending Anthony texts with results each time I get them. He would think I lost my mind if he was here - I keep running from one end of the house to the other from my tv to computer. :bonk:

I swear if he does win ( obama) i hope that some psycho doesnt try to take him out

A started saying that early on. He said that we should hope he doesn't win because someone will do that. I kept telling him to hush cuz President Bush tapped our phonelines and didn't tell anyone.

As far as I understand whichever candidate wins the most electoral votes wins. Popular vote doesn't really matter. In 2004 Kerry won the most popular vote but Bush won the electoral so he got presidency. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure that is how it works.

You got it right Yards. My son and I just went through this whole thing. We had to google a bit to figure out how they determine what state gets how many votes. They need 270 electoral votes to win, otherwise it goes to the legislature to decide.

Island i believe it because michigan houses the BIG 3 automakers and then numerous other factories that are auto industry related, you see they are projecting that Chrysler is about to go under. People here have relied on the auto industry for many years and have lived very good off the high wages they paid, now as the economy crumbles, they are steadily cutting shifts and closing plants, for people who have started working in the factories out of high school, but arent old enough to retire, they are screwed and out of jobs with not alot of skills to fall back on having been shop rats for so many years...its sad

It is sad. Those automakers have supported some of those families for generations.

Update: Ja Love's condition has been improved. She's supposed to be getting released from the hospital tomorrow. She seemed upbeat. The doctors definitely screwed up!

 Thanks for the update Mrs. Scott

This slays me :angry: Why do we vote then?? If the pop vote is not important?
