Not too much going on...had an argument w/ Gregory a little while ago...but other than that, things are ok...it is a beautiful day outside and I feel like I should be out there doing something! Marlita, how's Evan?

Mrs. Palmer, I'm sorry about the argument, but it must be that time. Joel and I have argued almost everyday, but we want to cry too, because we are missing each other badly.

Rox, I know how you feel. And some things have happened in the last week that have created alot of strain on me financially which has created even more stress on me and the relationship. I just don't know what to do, and the sucky part is that I won't be able to see him until sometime in January :crying:

And the holidays are coming up, and I was really trying to be there for Christmas/New Year's, but financially, it's just not going to happen..

Mrs. Palner, I know what you mean by the financially strain, I have a business that right now is going bust and I have worked hard to try to save it. But I don't know, now I am trying to be away from here for a month, to try to re-group myself mentally. But I don't know what to do any more. This economic situation has turned my life upside down, but I know it's something GOD is trying to tell or show me. So, I will just put it in his hand and pray.

Okay, Marlita as a married woman, what is the one thing that is different today, than a week ago. What is the one thing you would do different today than what you did a week ago?

Really the only thing different is sharing the bed space, haha. Its just having another person in the house to be aware or. I think for those with children it may not be that big of a difference. Really it doesnt feel like we are married, just like he's some out of town boyfirend who is visiting. Once he's here awhile it will be different. But the only thing different is just having someone to talk to in the house and to actually see his facial expressions more often.

Although one thing that i feel sometimes is like I took him away from his life before or his fam. thats kinda sad.

Shrewdie, enjoy JA and your husband girl! I heard that they're scheduling December dates, and have even pushed some up from Dec to Nov (seems there have been openings.) If I were you, I would call while I was down there 2 see if you can get something soon!

Lita, I started to CRY when I read this. I was in Jamaica with Marcel when he said goodbye to his family and friends. We had a week or so with them when he told them he was leaving. It got harder and harder each day and when it came to the final day I've never seen so many grown men cry tears it broke my heart. I'm happy that Evan is adjusting well. Marcel has quiet times when he don't want to talk at all. I just let him be until he finds his way back.

hey everyone,

this may sound strange but i am having a hard time reading the patois you all are writing. i am a jamaican i speak perfect patois but to write or read it is close to impossible for me. it takes me a longer time to get through an entire thread trying to figure out what is being said so i eventually decide to just use context clues to figure out essentially what you all are talking about.

bare with me.

jakeswife

You are not alone, I have issues sometime reading it too..

Jakeswifes and Portland (no feel no wah)...in my experience most Jamaicans cannot read or write patwah...I've been in the states a very long time and back in the day when letters were the main form of commnication that's how I wrote to my grandmother in PATOIS...it's simple to me, but may prove to be difficult for other Jamaicans. You'll get the hang of it...I really don't have an accent but I do speak RAW patois at home and with family. My son is 5 born in the states, but has a heavy Jamaican accent when he's around family. It's funny to hear him speak. His favorite line is "watch yah".... or "but si yah"...Mostly Jamaicans or other Indies pick up on my accent...everyone else thinks that I'm from down south.

Hey Jakewife, can you fill in your time line, we can't see when you started this process and where you are now. I know you have finished but it will help others to see a time line.

Marlita, Marlits how is it to finally be settling down as husband and wife? Now, you have no more secrets and he is here in your space.

JALove, how are you and the family doing?

i didn't do it because i was unaware of how to fill it in.i started my journey on march, 03 2008.our case got expedited by uscis however a request for expedite with the embassy was denied. our case was completed on july 16,2008 and as you know the interview date is schedule for dec,11,2008. we are trying to reschedule since i learn that they are calling petitioners and offering earlier dates for interviews. i will keep u all posted.

i hope this helps.
