hey everyone,

this may sound strange but i am having a hard time reading the patois you all are writing. i am a jamaican i speak perfect patois but to write or read it is close to impossible for me. it takes me a longer time to get through an entire thread trying to figure out what is being said so i eventually decide to just use context clues to figure out essentially what you all are talking about.

bare with me.

I think the way many write the patois on here is very phonetically so that those who are less familiar with it can understand or pick it up. I think after reading it on here for awhile it gets easier. It used to be difficult for me to read it at first too, but now its like i dont even see it anymore.

Hey Jakewife, can you fill in your time line, we can't see when you started this process and where you are now. I know you have finished but it will help others to see a time line.

Marlita, Marlits how is it to finally be settling down as husband and wife? Now, you have no more secrets and he is here in your space.

JALove, how are you and the family doing?

Yes Evan is taking it all in. He gets overload sometimes but all is ok. He misses the Jamaican vibes....I do too. I know its just the first week, so he'll soon get used to it. He went with my stepdad to go work on the apartment and fix stuff..haha. So I am home alone. Its very different having someone in what used to be just my space. I've lived with a BF before and this is like that time, but I didnt realize how long it had been since last I lived with someone. Takes some getting used to on certain things, other than that its cool. Evan is adapting to the weather as best he can. I feel for yall in those cold states. That has to wreck havoc on the new Jamaican body/skin. Its hot here, but much dryer, so Evan needs much more moisture. he had a cold nose and cold hands for the first time since i've known him....that was wierd. Plus he doesnt shine from all the moisture and JA sun and sweat. Actually he doesnt sweat anymore  .

He thinks its very quiet around here....I never noticed that til he pointed it out. It acutually feels like he's been here for years!! Very odd. But I think its just normal for us, just a different environment to be in.

Okay, Marlita as a married woman, what is the one thing that is different today, than a week ago. What is the one thing you would do different today than what you did a week ago?
