I really wanted this this question to be infomational, to help others who may find their self in the same situations. How does the US job market recognize their level of education learning. Exclude College that is on another level.

I am aware that their high school education is set up entirely different than ours. Also, their trade school learning is set up different too. i.e plumbling, welding,electrician and computer.

If they have a trade occupation, how do they apply it here

i have to jump in here. it sounds to me that you are being overly concern about how well a jamaican integrate themselves into american society. i agree that it will take some adjustment but the idea of going out there to get a jobs takes a little more than book smarts. it takes a great attitude and a desire to learn. we maybe from different places geographical but there is a common understanding that if someone wants something they will find the tools necessary to make it happen for them. so yes, i agree that one should prepare for an interview but i also know that despite the cultural difference people can adapt to there surroundings and sometimes that will take good and bad experiences. something you just cannot prepare for. so take comfort in knowing that all those who are trying to make a life for themself will make it happen. don't be so caught up.

Dillon....have you looked and found any rum cream around here? If so, where?

I haven't looked. I usually just drink Appleton and I have found that.

Neither of us are a fan of rum. I could live off rum cream.

Me too! There is a Barbados brand I can find here that is a close second - I have also seen this recipe, although haven't tried it -

Ingredients

* 1 (300 g) can sweetened condensed milk

* 1 1/2 cups rum (use white or amber, you can use less if desired, I like to use the 1-1/2 cups!)

* 1 cup whipping cream

* 2 eggs

* 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup

* 2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

1. Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

2. Pour into a very clean glass bottle.

3. Refrigerate it for up to 7 days, the flavors will intensify the longer you leave it, believe me it won't last that long LOL!

Mmmmmm....thanks Sus.

Does that international market on Grand sell alcohol? I can't think of the name..is it Jay's or something like that?

Jays International. Nope, not a drop.

Global Foods does out in Kirkwood. I didn't see it out there either though.

JG-I have never voted in Missouri before, how long of a wait do you think it will be tomorrow? Just wondering.

I am going very early tomorrow. I dont' think it will be as bad as they are predicting. But, if it is, I get up to 3 hours of paid time off to vote, so I'm not too worried. Did you see the lines to absentee ballot? Looked like 1/2 the city anyhow. I would not recommend waiting till the last minute, no matter what. I think a lot will go after work.

Over and out for at least a while ladies. If I am good, I should go home and work on the baby scrapbook I need to finish sometime soon. If I am bad, you will see me on here again.

Hope everyone has a good night.

obamas grandmother just died

R.I.P

can you imagine what stress his body and heart and mind are feeling right now?

He said: "She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances."

I have been thinking about moving to Texas once dwayne gets here, but i want him to have a decision in where we move so im thinking we will do a little traveling. I have never been to Cali though i have an aunt who lives there, michigan is just too dyam cold and the people arent friendly, and everyone here has road rage including me...LOL.. i would like to visit DC/MD area but am concerned it would be to pricey for me to afford to live, as i have never researched jobs in the area, i also hear that North Carolina is very nice. I just want someplace that is a little metropolitan cause i like noise and hustle and bustle and a little teensy bit country.
