So all of the stuff you guys are mentioning wrong with your communities or cities.....what is keeping you there then? Do you see yourself moving in the future?

yup, but to where I dont know. Its all about moving for my kids now, not just me. I really have a hard time figuring it out.

It definitely is hard to figure it out. While we live in the bush we really don't have that much to worry about. People are friendly and the area is safe for the most part. We have been fortunate not to experience very much racism or prejudice here at all. It doesn't really have a lot of vibes or a big city feel that I sometimes crave but it is a good place. I am sure I could list a hundred things good and bad but it works for us for now. I worry about moving somewhere and having to deal with all the stuff you guys are talking about. Not sure if the good outweigh the bad.

And no matter how much you researched, you would just not know until you moved and experienced day to day life there.

Dillon where are you? How do you feel about St. Louis? You are a bit west of us and actually in a nicer area. How would you describe it?

I did not grow up in the St Louis area but I love it here. I actually decided to come back her to raise my daughter because I like it so much. The area that I live in is VERY diverse. Chinese, Black, White, Hispanic, Jewish etc. and the people are very friendly as well where I live. I think that is what I like most about it. Your neighbors actually talk to you and watch to make sure you are okay. Once a year we even have a block party which I think is pretty cool. I have lived other places, Colorado, Michigan, Nevada and out of all of the places to me this is the most friendliest. It isn't a perfect city but overall it is great. A lot of things to do here as well for families, nice museums, art galleries, baseball games a free zoo, science center...too many to name.

Where do they live down south?

I have two cousins that moved to TX, not far from Houston - One that is in the Raleigh Durham area of NC, and one of my best friends is in the Charlotte area of NC - All of them have young kids, and have a better quality of life than they had here -

Would you consider moving to any of those places?

Not sure about TX, because I haven't been there yet - To the Charlotte area, definitely - and almost did - MD is another place I would consider -

How tough is Brooklyn, Kimmy, on the whole. I have a SIL there now and I am worried about her.

Depends on what part of Brooklyn - there are good parts and bad parts - There are some areas in Brooklyn that I absolutely love

CT clubs close too early :) right Sus

LOL - Which is why we head to NYC - or go find the Jamaican clubs and afterhours :whistle:

C'mon down. MD and VA are nice places to live. You get the best of both worlds....the city and the 'burbs.

JG ON THAT NOTE..HUBBY WENT TO BROOKLYN AND STATED WE LIVE WHERE WE'RE SUPPOSE TO..BROOKLYN TOO NOISY

It depends on what part of Brooklyn, I live in canarise and its very quiet, Flatbush now is a different story. Plus I found this supermarket in Queens "Farmia" when I go there I feel like I am in Jamaica. I hear the raw jamaican cussing the noise the people, plus they sell everything you can imagine in there.

Of course, i have seen both sides of Brooklyn he hasn't the reply was from his experience :)

girl, it's like night and day some places you go..i mean straight thru the night there is traffic (foot, auto) and then u go to park slope and a whole different story..

Wonder what that Journee thinks?

It's funny you say that cause, yes, we know almost all our neighbors and it is close knit. 3 of my neighbors have keys to my house.

I am still waiting for the bar-b-que invite!!!!!

WHY WESTMORELAND SO QUIET...HEY GIRL...

Hello - it was crazy at work Friday. The residents were really acting up. LOL I usually just read and laugh, cry, etc. with all the things you ladies are experiencing. If you've read my story - then you know why I'm quiet. I really enjoy being here reading, responding (when possible) regardless of how things turned out for me.

Thanks for the shout out!

Pam

Honestly, I feel that way about anyone in the same situation. This is no exclusive club. Once you are family, you are family!
