Jg..i would think that the ppl wanting to file CR1 should discuss if they are gonna be apart for 2yrs so then they will get their 10yr..it's also cheaper in the end ?

wow..13 of us..and no duppies or guest..for the 1st time in a long time

That's what I was thinking too. Cause, I still don't see a whole lot of benefits to going that way yet. I was thinking Marlita's journey might sway me.

Did you ever discuss that with Rhonda? That's Tony's field as well, right?

I don't remember. Geesh it has been too long since I talked to Rhonda.

Me too. Hope they are well.

Pretty sure that is what Tony does. Only, he goes out of state a lot to do it.

Island, when your SO gets here do he wants to continue with his welding experience and if so have you researched any information on this?

He does want to - says he loves it. I did some research over the summer and I keep my eye on the job market in my local paper, but I haven't pushed too much in the past couple months as things were in the air.

So what y'all are saying about the CR1/IR1 thing is that you should marry but then wait for 2 years so that you get the IR1...it would be cheaper in the long run cause you would show up with your 10 year green card. Geesh what a stress to have to remove conditions on your CR1.

Very true -

Sol, you also have to factor that many of these girls are hooked on harsh drugs - They get a free supply when they are working - same thing like you find here in the US - Where the term crack ####### came from - it's sad, really - but some of them can't help themselves or see how badly they are treating their spirits and bodies.

Yay!!! I disappeared cause the dentist called me and fit me into the schedule asap to get this tooth removed! Finally I am done with all this dental drama. Plus side is...they refunded me all my money and didn't charge me for anything - all 6 visits. I am so glad I didn't have to fight it.

That's awesome Yards! I'm glad it is finally over for you. What a trauma.....

Its not AOS, its just removing conditions. You just remove them earlier than a K1 person cause you are married already. Basically by the 2nd year of your marriage you should be removing conditions. We were married over a year but living apart, but USCIS still counts that time period so come our 2 year anniversary we have to remove conditions. its actually nicer, we get out of USCIS earlier than expected.

Just months though. Cause we were removing conditions just 2 months AFTER our 2 year anniversary.

I don't know why I thought it was nothing after he got here for you.

That really sucks. So, what is the benefits of filing the CR-1 for those who are weighing getting married or not before filing?

its cheaper and you get done with USCIS much faster. He can work quicker, he can travel when he wants. You pretty much have everything needed for him/her to come here as a functioning part of the country with CR1/Ir1.

Sus you said those girls at shades making $2000 a day isn't that around $25 us or so a day?! Isn't there something better you can do to make that? Just wondering out loud.

Thats ok money for them maybe. Some people make like $60 a week working at hotels. So $25 a day is pretty sweet.

Right that's what I was trying to convey. As hard as it is to be apart if you are married for 2 years before getting your visa you basically skip right through everything and all the money for AOS and ROC and go straight to waiting for naturalization. That would be a tough call...waiting vs. having them come asap...ugh.

It just wouldn't have been cheaper for me in the long run. I ran all the figures. Adding phone calls, trips, etc. to it would have come out pretty much equal in my calculations.
