The Gleaner is cracking me up this morning........

A flash-flood warning, which is in effect until 5 a.m. today, has been issued for low-lying and flood-prone areas. Residents can also expect windy conditions with temperatures falling two degrees below normal.

2 degrees is news????????????

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

We always get a child (or a few if we can afford it) from the Angel Tree and go shopping for them and get them whats on their wish list plus some essentials. Always donate some clothing items to the local charity that they hand out during the winter months. One year my family took Thanksgiving dinner to a homeless family...so rewarding. To sit and eat a meal with someone who otherwise would have gone without is such a heartwarming feeling. Plus to get to know them was truly inspirational. I hope we can do something like that again soon.

I agree - The one year that we did a family - They were a refugee family with 6 kids - they had been moved into a new apt, and got broken into immediately - We did a money collection and then I shopped - I got each of them an outfit and a toy, then we got a stroller, toiletry stuff, etc.... when we found out about the robbery, everyone stepped up and started cleaning out their attics - We gave them a couch, Christmas tree, table, chairs, blankets,................. a full meal, including a turkey, etc....

The kids all made cards and thank you notes for us - they were so cute!

I think this is a great idea Kimmy. What would you suggest? Raising money, clothing? I have always wanted to start one and donate books. I was never a big reader growing up but I believe it is very important and books can take you anywhere...lets you escape reality for a bit.
