Ok..I'm feeling a little unfulfilled today. It's like I had an epiphany. I feel like I need to be doing more for the "world" the community. But I wanna to do something with JA like helping the needy around the holidays..get donations and fund some kind of x-mas for them. Does anyone else feel this way?

Yes I have kids and a family but that's a different fulfillment.

Kimmy I have been feeling like this all year. Then yesterday I heard Will Smith talking about how he just wants to help people. I feel like if you die and nobody misses your presence then you haven't lived. Right now I don't think I am making a impact on anybody and that does not make me happy. I feel we are put here for someone else and if you aren't helping someone else you are not doing what you are put here to do. :innocent:

Ladies, I struggle with this everyday. I went to college, studied accounting, got a good career going. But I feel so unfullfilled. I don't feel like I'm giving back, and I'm just working for the dollars $$$. Ryan and I want to start volunteering and eventually have our own charity.

Good Luck Portland!

My SO decided it would be a good idea to open a beer bottle with is teeth and a tooth broke so I have been hearing about that for the last day and a half.

 Oh my Garth did this my last trip! I told him stop doing that before you break your teeth then I gave him a bottle opener I had gotten at some health fair. You think this man use the bottle opener? NO! He says his teeth nice and strong!

How are your SOs with gifts?

The first present DJ ever gave me was perfume - It was a kind I had never heard of, and I cringed when I saw the box - because I have such allergies and am really funny with scents - But he did really well, it was similar to one that I wear - he said it reminded him of me.

A does a pretty good job. I still get things now and then that I don't really have a use for but it's the thought that counts and I am glad that he even remembers to get me gifts. I think a big part of it is our gift "styles" are different. I am a more practical gift giver and he is more sentimental. I will give you something you need/can use where he is more about the stuffed animals and other tokens of love that really aren't useable in anyway and are more of a sentimental thing. Nothing wrong with either one...just different styles.

I do; but it's more localized. I am in charge here of getting us a family to sponsor, telling people what they want, collecting the items, wrapping, and making sure they are delivered. Started that last week. This year, we added another family and I am a chemo angel so I have my little girl.

We always get a child (or a few if we can afford it) from the Angel Tree and go shopping for them and get them whats on their wish list plus some essentials. Always donate some clothing items to the local charity that they hand out during the winter months. One year my family took Thanksgiving dinner to a homeless family...so rewarding. To sit and eat a meal with someone who otherwise would have gone without is such a heartwarming feeling. Plus to get to know them was truly inspirational. I hope we can do something like that again soon.

I probably shouldn't start my own charity. My husband wants to run his own insurance company where the end scenario is us escaping to Jamaica in an Ark House.
