Sus some of the high schools are going back to that. Most of the schools here have college bound or just academic. We don't have many schools that offers a trade. There are a few, but the trade is very limit.

In the area where I live we have both technical and academic schools - These days, the tech schools have revolved into focusing on computer repair / etc... as well as trades like auto repair, plumbing, etc....

I think that in the US today, everyone should strive for at least a GED or HS diploma - Most jobs seem to want at least that, and in order to advance through a career field, I think that people should try to get that -

And, there is no stirring of the pot on this issues. Anyone that does have an issue with my relationship can go bite the big one cause I am not giving them the time of day. End of that story. I've heard it all before and it doesn't bother me one bit. Time has been my friend.

Seems I missed a big convo. Sorry for drudging it back up. I think it is ridiculous for anyone to have a problem with someone's relationship based on the races that are involved. Have I been given sh!t for being in an interracial relationship - hell yes. Mostly right here on this very board. I have learned that those people are not a reflection of society as a whole and if that persons problem is me and my marriage well then they have more serious issues than they realize.

What irks me about myself is when I miss a day or two, I go back and try and give my 2 cents worth, only to find out, someone already said the same blasted thing anyhow further down.

I agree completely, Yardie - I feel the same - I have gotten #### for being in an IR relationship in the past, and been hit with racism in many areas, both on the net and off - To me, it rolls off my back - I could care less if I see a WM with a BW - or visa versa - people are people, regardless of their color. If someone else can't handle it, that's there problem.

No worries about drudging it back up - I intend to as well, just hadn't had time to go back and dig out the post I want to reply to yet!

Lance has his high school diploma and thats all. He said when he comes he'll get his license for welding. I asked him if he was interested in getting a bachelors in construction management and he said "no sah..mi nuh wan go a nuh college" :lol: i dont mind. as long as he's doing what he loves

Ok, it took me all morning to catch up.... Good morning everyone...

JALove, you are in my thoughts and prayers.....

I won't qoute everyone since it was alot, I will just add my two cents.... I am jamaica born and lived there for about 12years. Most Jamaican do not belive that I am Jamaican, because they belive I speak like a "valley girl." I live in Schuylkill Haven PA, for two years and Happy Valley, PA for 7 years. So I get it all the time that I am a fake Jamaican, but it does bother me I know who I am. Also I do not write in Patios because I never know how to spell anything and I want to make sure that what I want to say is what is actually being conveyed. When I am with Anthony and I say anything in patwah he laughs and says I sound like Ms Chole. So when I am there I talk how I talk everyday.

Rox, I work in HR so I started working on Anthony resume, my only issues in doing it is that he as work for himself since he was 18, he can take an engine out of a car put it back together but he has never gone to school for that. He is just great with his hands.

I think there was something else I wanted to comment on but I can't remember...
