Likkle more ladies;

I'm going to earn my 2 cents leaving work at 11:45. Hubby wants to take son to zoon (I'm not up to it), so we're going to Rock Creek Park to take some fall pictures. Marcel is in love with the fall coloursll, says they're beautiful.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Kimmy, with those qualities that you speak so highly of your husband with, I see why you made your decision. Im trying to get us to give advise to the masses, rather than to unique situations.

Would we be correct in saying that with the job market the way it is today, and what we know of our So country and their skill sets, it be okay not to aid them ( prep work)in preparing for a job interview.

This is something I feel we should speak to the masses on. First let's qualifie this by saying, each and every Man or Woman who comes here as our SO, is able to fend for their self. There is nothing in my questions or comments to belittle anyone.

1Luv...the way I make gravy is using the seasonings from the meat I'm cooking and add water and turn down the fire..and let simmer

Do you use flour or cornstarch to thicken it?

I made Gizzada this weekend!! It was delicious - (note to self - buy a food processor! Grating coconuts was painful.)

nope nothing..u gotta add the right amount of water Granny atold me never to add flour to my meat :) u see it in the gravy

i love Gizzada..and yes grating coconut can be very painful ..ahahhaaa

It just thickens on its own?? Hmmm..I'll try that next time. You can see the flour, and if you use too much you can taste it. My grandmother is the gravy master, not me...

A got me hooked on Gizzada this last trip. I was hooked like it was crack!!

I don't think you can take this any way but case by case. It's all going to depend on his skills, his experience, his qualities, his demeanor, etc.

I cannot give advice to the masses without noting unique situations. We've been there and done that and it's always reflected in my answers.

Good Morning everyone :D

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I ended up going out of town down to Seattle for the weekend and meeting up with some of the wonderful ladies I met at the Seattle meetup. One of the ladies grandma was having her 100th birthday party. We had a great time and then a big sleepover - it was fun to be all girly  We all got together for breakfast the next morning and then chatted the day away until it was time for us to go home. It was a great weekend :D

Back to catch up...

Kimmy, thanks for this. I believe this is what is needed, by telling us how your SO felt when he went to the job fair. Kimmy I believe this was a great move, you wasn't the one preaching to him, he heard what was needed from others, so he didn't get defensive when you finally spoke about it. Great move.

I agree completely, JG - You cannot ever stereotype or group people together - How can you apply something to the masses when each person is an individual with their own unique qualities?

I think that, regardless of the job market, there are certain things you have to help your SO with, or point him / her in the direction of where to find it - Such as the cost of living in the particular area, the average wage for a certain occupation, where to look for jobs, etc.... all the types of things that anyone moving to a new country / city / state would have to learn.

In regards to preparing my SO on how to interview, how to write, how to speak - In my situation, I see no need - DJ writes and speaks beautifully, proper English when he wants to - I have no question on his ability to get a job or be successful in whatever he wants to do -

His favorite thing these days is to research different towns around where I live and point out apartments and houses for us - I am beginning to regret the bookmarks I saved on the computer

Dear Yardie Family,

Please pray for Ja Love. Her husband called me at 1:00 AM. Yesterday, she complained about having migraine headaches. I told her that if the problem worsens to go to the emergency room. To make a long story short, she had two seizures. The doctors are trying to determine if she had placenta remains inside of her. Her baby is only a week old. Her mother said that she is having a cat scan. Hopefully, they can figure out what's wrong. As soon as I hear from Chris, I will let you guys know.

Later,
