Lawny - how is Marcel doing? Did things work out with FedEx? Don't forget UPS and Home Depot.

Hey sjb -- Marcel is doing okay. He has 2 interviews the end of this week. With the FEDEX job, the location where he was going to work the guy couldn't hold the job any longer, because his supervisor said that they had to fill it immediately. We got the EAD 1 week too late, but it's okay. So, on to UPS and Home Depot (thanks for the heads up).

Tell Marcel good luck. I'll let you know if I hear anything else.

Thanks. Just talked to Sunny, she's so HAPPY and Ray is a trip (he cracks me up)...can't wait for the link up.

Ray reminds of Damien a little bit...silly. We're ready for the link up. Just let me know what time and place.

Question ladies,

For your SO job interviews and job application, do you'll do dry pratice run's before they go out and start looking and applying?

I only ask this because when I work with the guys in JA, for the summer recuritment program, I find that alot of the men spell the way they speak, and most of them do not do eye contact when they are speaking to you.

Some tend to speak so fast, that their english comes out poorly.(get gabage- up).

Now, when they get comfortable with the situation it is a different picture.

We didn't.

You did nothing because you felt nothing was needed?

The present job market is tight, so if your SO is competing against many more qualified candidates, what will give him an edge over the other candidates.

Nope. Didn't feel anything was needed. I got him to the interviews cause he didn't drive at that point. It was up to him to work the room. I had faith in him and his abilities.

We did. I work in personnel so I helped him with applications. Plus he had six months doing nothing so I had time to show him the ropes. He got his EAD on Friday and started working on Monday.

He mastered the two interviews he's been on. He believes it was his Jamaican charm  I think it helped.

I know cuz he's a charmer...a real slick talker. And Jamaicans are known to be hard workers. I was a little worried because he's never been on a real interview.

So, what I am hearing is that you'll didn't feel ,it was wise to do some prep work before they went out on interviews. So, this question is for you ladies, how many inetrviews have you gone on and did you do any prep work toward your own interview process?

Do any of you keep up-to date resumes?

Dear Yardie Family,

Please pray for Ja Love. Her husband called me at 1:00 AM. Yesterday, she complained about having migraine headaches. I told her that if the problem worsens to go to the emergency room. To make a long story short, she had two seizures. The doctors are trying to determine if she had placenta remains inside of her. Her baby is only a week old. Her mother said that she is having a cat scan. Hopefully, they can figure out what's wrong. As soon as I hear from Chris, I will let you guys know.

Later,

Mrs. Scott (Kelia)

I am so sorry to hear this I will be praying for Jalove

Roxie;

I'm in the DC area, so my resume is always updated. You never know when an opportunity will drop your way. I've pased up many in the last 11 years. The pay way wayyyyyy more than what I'm making now, but it didn't out weigh the benefits I was receiving and the flexiblity at my current job.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Rox, i didn't think it was necessary b/c he has worked all his life upon 1yr b4 he left JA. He's grown he knows how to handle himself, he speaks well, he reads well, and knows how to reason.

I don't prep for interviews, I just read up on the company, I do keep an updated resume though. I got every job i interviewed for..I have only had like 4 jobs

Tre, you'll right on this you never know when a job may drop your way. There are somethings that does outweight money, especially when you are a parent trying to raise a child and work.

That's pretty much exactly what I was thinking on both counts. You just say it so much more eloquently this a.m.
