JG..can u just see that now..one for u and one for me...dem sayin mek it seem like there is no world w/o dem..JAeyes..open dem eyes girl..and knock ur sis in her head too....

Mrslady.....u said u met ur SO in June of this yr? Do u feel like it's too soon are u now questioning ur intent ?

Mrslady..go check out ummmwhats her name..Texasbound's profile

These men know how to play the game and they are caught up in it. No shame at this point. Marriage in December is foolish talk.

I wish I could think of all the others to point them too.

JAeyes......please slow down and really get to know this man. Visit him a few more times. Please. For your own sake, please heed our advice on this one. I've been on here over 3 years.....I have seen so many horror stories. If I can stop one person from becoming the next one, I would be happy.

I was a horror story - Not that I was used for a visa, and not by a JA man - but I fell in love and moved to fast with a man who turned out to be a cheat. I feel the same way about stopping one person from being the next - I have seen it too many times - If sharing my pain can give someone else insight, than it's worth it to me -

Some stories I have seen relating to JA men -

A guy who came here on a work visa - overstayed, convinced a 18 year old to marry him, cheated on her left and right - but got her to file for his green card then dumped her.

A man who came up on a K1 with one woman - Had two other women who I have met, whether through the net or in person, who he told he loved, used them for money - He has been here a few years and married to the one woman - but still calls the other two and tries to tell them he's leaving her, etc....

Read the forum on problems here - Read Westmoreland's story - There are good and honest people out there, and love happens where love happens - But there are plenty of people out there who pray on other's emotions.

I had been reading the post from JAeyes - and my first thought was basically the same as others have stated here. Take your time. I met my ex on my first trip in '06 - stayed in contact. Now mind you he proposed to me December '06 and during that month he told me that he had applied and got denied for a visitor visa (I don't really know if he did - I just took him at his word).

So in '07 I decided it would be good to go and visit him again August '07 - like everyone has stated here - "in his environment" away from the resort scene. The trip was like three days - its was a really good trip. Was supposed to meet his sister - never happened (flag) - his mother is deceased. Met his oldest son - I meet the youngest son on first trip.

November '07 - I found this website and joined and started learning the "real and true" things about some Jamaican men. Things that I thought was crazy because of cultural difference were not - the were red flags. I just kept thinking "oh he loves me" so that couldn't be this or that. :bonk: My mom kept asking me how long is he going to be here? I told my mom we were getting married - her reply "I'll say". None of my family came to the wedding - big flag. :wow: With my mom not coming to the wedding let me know she could see through him and she didn't want to say anything to hurt my feelings. My mom and I are very close - I guess if things worked out she didn't want to be the bad person - and if things didn't work out she would be "mom" and hold my hand and heart through whatever. Which turned out to be the latter. How was I wrong - his true colors bleed through so quickly once I do was said.

My only wish is that I wish I would have taken the advice the women from this board gave. Most of the advice was given to others and not for me directly - but it was for me. I have also learned how to understand the language "patrois" and now when that sucker calls me I can curse him out properly in his language  and for that VJ ladies I thank you. JAeyes - just take your time.

Sorry so long - I had to chime in my two cents.

There are couples on this board who may have seen each other over a span of three trips (each trip lasting about 3-5 days, so for argument's sake lets say they spent a total of 15 days together before paperwork was filed) and say JAEyes files, but she spent an entire two weeks (14 days) with the man - seriously, what's the difference? The fact that one couple saw each other three separate times and someone else saw her loved one once?

Yes she should tread lightly but if she feels this is it, then taking one or two more trips down isn't gonna make much of a difference if her mind is already made.

For the years I've been on VJ, I've seen posts like these. This isn't the first (and by far it won't be the last) time a person from ANY country says something like this.

JAEyes whatever you decide, just be careful.

Your right Jonesie. Many folks on here have not had lots of face to face time with their SO before marriage. I being one of them. Even though it was 10 months before we married, we actually only had about 2.5 weeks of face to face time. Lots of phone talking and whatnot, but to me thats not the most important part of the relationship. I for one am confident in my relationship but I also think what I did was a bit foolish at times. (shocking right?) Well I put my faith truly in the Lord and He is the only one that got me thru. If I had not, my relationship would have been in a state of turmoil and destruction. This situation is not the most ideal and I would not recommend it to ANYONE, even if mine is working. I do think that you must follow your head and NOT your heart in this type of situation. Your heart does foolish foolish things and really...cant be trusted. Place your faith in God and really submerge yourself into the persons life and just sit and watch if they submerge themselves in yours. While on vacation...EVERYTHING is great a relaxing and perfect and just so wonderful and amazing....it VACATION! Not reality. The reality of being in a serious realtionship with someone u love who is miles away at months on end is NOT amazing. But you have to treat it like a normal realtionship otherwise you'd be quick to get caught up. I've seen people on here get caught up, some snap out of it some dont and then its too late. Most times we all just sit back and watch it like its a train wreck and say nothing. its none of our business really and I for one have not seen ONE woman on here change her mind about her SO from the things that a Yardie VJ'er said. So all I can say is think with your head and NOT your heart. That should get you some of your answers.

Are you sure you're not a preacher? Preach Marlita..Preach.

im in agreement with what all the ladies said on here JAEYES, take it for whats it worth and if something initially doesnt seem right to you, dont second guess it and then dismiss it, question it and question it some more until you are satisfied with the answers. sometimes when we ask questions we dont really want the answers  but for the most part the yaardie ladies are good people and just dont want to see someone taken advantage of or hurt and that is not just aimed at you, but any of us that are on here. So dont be offended, take what you read and learn from here and always follow your first mind.
