I agree.

I've personally met lots of couples who did not make it. Or stay together miserable as hell. So many horror stories out there.

True, there are some successful stories..including mine. I used to say that Damien changed when he got here when in reality we didn't know each other. Things could have gone either way.

Jonesie - take the pole dance class. It will be so much fun. I take striptease once a month...good exercise.

While there are success stories there are just as many horror stories unfortunately. And even of the success stories it hasn't been without trial and tribulation. Marriage isn't easy. Add in a spouse with a different culture and way of life and it just gets more complicated. Yes it is possible to have a successful marriage but it sure isn't the easy road by any means.

Amen. Preach that sister!

Thannks JG (re: starfish)...I wanna stay there for a few days when I go in January. I've never stayed at a resort in JA so I'm really excited

If you haven't been to glistening waters, it's worth the visit while you are so close. It is incredibly beautiful. Make sure you go at night and that you swim when you do.

(No matter what anyone tells you, Marie, don't drink the water. You will not pee in florescent colors!)

Learned by trial and error, JG?

Marie, are you set on an area for the resort? I really liked the Royal DeCameron Mo Bay - good location, good food, nice beach, comfy rooms - You can find some good deals on it.

BECAUSE HE IS TALKING ABOUT MARRIAGE AFTER 1 TRIP AND 14 DAYS. Come on now!

I hear you and agree. The point I was trying to make was that if her head is buried in the sand now and she doesn't want to see reality it really won't matter how many trips she makes back and forth. If he played her for 2 weeks and she comes back in Dec he will play her again, if that is his intention. If you are taking trips back and forth but refusing to open your eyes and let your mind guide you and not your heart and pum pum it really isn't going to make much of a difference one visit or ten. If in your mind you are sure that you are in love and soulmates and meant to be do you really think you would be looking for or even care about red flags? Not a chance.

I think this whole thing is sketchy - 2 weeks of knowing each other, already planning a wedding, sister falls in love too etc. While we can give great advice it really comes down to if the person is going to open their mind and accept that advice. There has been PLENTY of times where good and true advice was given on this board and the person thinks "oh not me...never could be me" and they end up getting played in the end. Too each their own...at least we tried to help. Hopefully JAEyes will heed our warnings but from the sound of her post...not sure that is going to happen.

I know, Yards. I agree.

I need to go back and read. I don't think my comment was directed at you. If I did, it was not my intention. I think I was answering something Jonsie wrote.

I just want to know if the guy looking her and the guy looking her sister are friends ...that would be a BIG reg flag (in my opinion)

Marie..dem proly a play har so much she wouldn't even have a clue...

OK ppl oonuh si wah mi chat bout all dis time !!

 Exactly. But again most people go into it thinking "not me, can't be me, I won't let that happen" and they get pissed off at people like you and me who speak the truth. Are bad things going to happen to every single relationship? Nope but wouldn't you rather be prepared than go into it blind? I would think so but a lot of people like to live and stay in their own bubble and not think or ponder on reality.

Portland, Westport is a rich community - Nice and quiet, on the water - Quaint little main street with high end shops. There are more and more companies moving out that way, but it's definitely a town not a city. There is a train from NYC that stops in Westport, and there is a mini-bus system to get to main areas, it depends on what part of Westport -

Rents would probably be high, but you can live in Norwalk or Fairfield for cheaper - the next towns.

Ok, Thanks Sus.

Yes, I drank some. We all did. We went there one night and got there after they closed. My SIL talked the guard....in his barely there underwear.....to give us a milk jug full of that water. It really did glow the whole way home. So pretty. The kids were in awe. We tried it to see if it would glow when it came out. It didn't. Did make us all sort of sick though. Hee hee.

When we went back to actually take in the sights, I refused to drink it again!

I really wish they weren't so embarrassed after the fact and would come back on and tell their tale. So many people could learn from the stories. Instead, we have to say "I hear" all the time. I hate that.

SUS, where did you go? You asked if I would be in Negril in another topic-Filling Status Questions-. The answer is yes. I will be in Negril with Steve Dec 31- Jan 13..... :jest::dancing: I see your timeline has you arriving a few days before me to JA, will you be in Negril? Maybe we could hook up????

Hey Claire, whaa gwaan?

Hey Mrs. (waving). Nothing is going on. Just sitting here by my lonesome on the couch catching up and watching some TV. I know you can't wait to go to Ja to see your honey. How is school going?

You are too right.......I have ants in my pants about going!!!! Just thinking about the advice and such I get I here.....the other day day Steve and I sorta got into it about me not texting him before I went to work and he was worried all day because no message or nothing. He later said he was just making war with me ova nutting! Other's have said on here that the closer the trip gets the more the spats get........

School is good actually! I can't believe I am saying that now. I really wanted to quit in the beginning! My midterm grade was a B. And although my diabetes has taken a cr*p on me these past few weeks from stress and such, I am over all good with school! Thanks for asking. Forgive me for asking if I have already asked and forgotten...what kind of nurse are you? I mean what department do you work in?

Hey Mrs. Just saw your question this morning. I have been a critical care nurse for over 8 years now and work in the medical/surgical intensive care unit in Raleigh, NC

I hope we haven't ran JAEyes away. Come back and let us know ur thoughts.

I hope not either. Considering though that she asked what the embassy would think about that and no one really answered that part and all kinda jumped on the same bandwagon I don't see her coming back and being too happy. Kinda the whole raining on their parade thing.

I think I remember them saying there are only 1 or 2 other countries (islands?) where that water does that. That makes it's very cool to be able to see it in JA.

Did you swim in it, Tre?
