I honestly don't see most of this stuff. Maybe that is why it is so hard for me to understand.

My husband is a man is a man is a man.

As far as towing the line....if you are talking about staying out of trouble with the law and such, then absolutely. There are rules in the US that are not exactly the same as JA and if he needs to be reminded of that from time to time, then it is what it is. It's not about "bringing him here" though. It's about both of us working hard to achieve what we want out of our marriage and our lives. You certainly don't want that thrown all away for some misunderstanding. Being a LPR, he is not completely protected. That is a big fear of mine.

hahaaa, how many trips have u had? where do u stay?

u'll be in the "Fam" shortly, u will soon have no color in Jamaica :)

I had 4 trips so far. I'm finally starting to "fit in" a bit in Hanover - at least if I walk down to the store by myself they all know which house I came from and I get less hassle, more just good morning or good days. I felt that was progress.

Which is why you have to ask questions. We all have a different viewpoint and it's good to hear them all.

Sorry, I wasn't back earlier to respond to the question about do I feel that some comments that have been made about the JA man, has been made in such a manner that it gave the impression, that he should tow the line because I brought you here.

What I find is that not everyone understand what it means for this Ja man to now be in the US and now he is now cosidered under the label of Africian American. Being a black man in this country is hard. Every movement and action of his is judged at a 200% level, where a white man is judged at 80% level.

I have always said when you are judging a black man, you are also judging a black woman, because that black man was birthed by a black woman.

I will allways judge a black man by the way he treats his mother, if he treats his mother like shyte, then in my book he will treat his woman the same way.

I agree with this about all men.

Island don't fell bad he!! I thought me and my girlfriend were going to have to fight two women in Jamaica and we are black. Girl I had taken off my shoes and earrings and was asking for some Vaseline( just in case someone don't no about the vaseline it't to keep your face from being scatched-up am I a hoodlum or what) But I understood their rudeness I would probably be rude to because some people just come to Jamaica to get there freak on. I actually came to me another man I had been talking to for 2 years and met and fell in love with my Husband. They are losing so many men to so many different people, some are just angry. And then again some could careless and are happy.

That statement makes me so mad, MBG. Not that you said it; but that it is even said at all. Not every person that goes to JA is going to get their freak on. It's such a stupid assumption that pretty much all are though.

When I first went to Jamaican to meet my husband family and friends, I meet so many people who told me that they knw I was farrin because for one they wanted to say I was white, I could pass as a caribbean of spanish descent. But in US, I am mistaken for espanish aswell. Also, they told me that they had never seen my husband walk with an woman the entire time he has lived in that community, all of his life.

My entire family is multi-cuture so being with Joel never felt out of place.

I agree with that somewhat and yes, all men.

Depends on the mother, though, right Kimmy? Some are a little more challenging then others. I don't think you should take everything someone dishes out to you just cause they are family. Respect for the bonds of family is one thing. Letting someone run your adult life is a whole 'nother.

 Lawny just taught me all about the use of vaseoline!!! Up here we use it for chapped cheeks in the winter.

I understand that. When we are checking into the hotel I get the feeling some people are thinking that. That's when I step up the respect for him even more and show them he's not my giglio, but my partner.
