It is a black white question for whoever asked. mi know for a fact many of the posters won't answer this honestly and some will get offend...and why? it's like i feel a change when one of the girls who is White reveal themselves or some get jumped on by saying a simple statement. i just hate it when some White women act more superior than their Black men of any race as if they are God's gift to the world. But, I have come to the conclusion that it's often not the womens fault but the fault of the man who make it seem as though they have discovered gold when they meet/marry/courting a White woman. A woman is a woman no matter the color of her skin. And don't get it twisted this is the same for out White Jamaican women.

I'm sorry Kimmy...you feel a change from who? Some of the black women who post on here? And if so, how so? I am honestly confused, and maybe it's just because I don't pay attention to a lot of stuff when petty comments are being made to one another. Are there women up here that you honestly feel like are acting more "superior" than their men? I know with the whole, Jamaican man thinking he's discovered gold thing, that could just as well be from that "lighter is better mentality." I know from reading, that skin color is still a really big issue in Jamaica (just think of all the women and men who go and bleach  ) In many cultures (and even in our own American culture) white women are still considered the "prize" because of what slaves and blacks were taught about what "they could offer". They were placed on a pedastal far higher than anyone else could reach. Now let me be the first to say that I certainly don't think any white woman (or woman from any race) has more or less to offer than me, but this has been so in-grained in our mentality that for some people, it's hard to think otherwise.

oh yes Mrs.P and it pisses me off cause it makes no sense. You have to watch the comments and see for yourself..And it is about what ppl feel a white person can offer.

on this site Kimmy, or just like in general?

both Lita, but mostly in this forum

Hey ladies question for yah..

To my Black Americans and Black Jamaicans..did it matter to you when you found out some of the ladies on here is/has married a Black Jamaican man?

I am by no means in this category...just curious though, is this a black-white question?

And I wonder how would it matter?? Isn't that what we are all here for? Just curious.......not stirring the pot!

who cares if you stir the pot everyone else does. We are here cause of a thread named Yardies, so some thing it's only Jamaicans in here...the root is some ppl change or treat others differently cause we are all not black in here.

When I found out Yaads was White i laughed so hard..only b/c she was up to di time wid har patois

Same for Lita when i found out she was not Jamaican born same reaction just cause she up pon di lingo

some don't care to embrace the culture of Jamaica, the land from which they have found men who completes their circle.

You aren't judging all on the lingo are you in your culture comment?

I missed it, Kimmy, or, if like Marlita said, it was a while ago, I have forgotten already. I respect you for calling it out though.

Hey Marlita. How are things with you and yours?

I pray that I have a little girl when I have a child - this weekend has made me realize that I don't like being a football mom, lol!

I took my Mom to see Reba McIntyre / Kelly Clarkson last night - the show was incredible, one of the best concerts I have been too -

You don't have to tell me about it!! I'm in my 4th year of being a football mom - and it's only gonna get worse. There are more and more girls playing on the teams and they are daymn good! But I have told my daughter don't you ever even think of asking me to let you play football.

I don't Reba has ever put on a bad show. She is a true entertainer!

I get whats shess saying though. I think some take in the culture without the language. I take in the language as much as I can, cause we all know that Patois is a HUGE part of the culture and for me its just something me and Evan would like to speak in our household and to future children to help him preserve his culture. But I think others may do other things that help preserve the culture/

Hey Marlita. How are things with you and yours?

not sure if I understand your comment JG

if I think you mean what you mean..I am the 1st to admit that I didn't think anyone who didn't spend time with Jamaicans or in Jamaica for long periods gave a rats on understanding the patois. And I have come to find out Yaads did alot of time in JA and Lita hung out with them :)

It has happened some time ago and lately too

His mom called yesterday to say she got a court appearance ticket in his name. They caught them stealing water again and took it all out. Now, they want him to pay for the water they were stealing. Keep in mind, he's been gone for 2.5 years. They sure are on the ball. His mom said she didn't know who he was and that she was renting the place.

Now, we are wondering if by the time we end up going back, they will have some sort of warrent out for his arrest. Wouldn't that be fun at the airport??????

What a mess!! I hope it works out for the best.

Hey ladies I just got home from work and let's stir up this conversation :devil:. I grew up in the South where Prejudice still remains and unchecked most of the time. As a young black southern girl I was taught that black and white don't mix. My Mom use to say if U married a white man U can come to Christmas dinner but he can't. I went to an all black elementry school and 1 year in High School, so to be really honest I was never exposed to other cultures. I saw white people on TV or when I went with my grand mother to help clean white peoples houses. When I turned 14 our house burned down and my father moved us into an all white neighborhood. Talking about culture shock!!!!!! I went from an all black school to being the 5th black person in a all white school. Our hood was so bad that the first night we were there they put toilet paper in all our front yard trees. When ever we were playing in the front yard we were told niggers U don't belong in this neighborhood go back to Africa.

Needless to say my opinion of white people were not good. I hated to see a black man with a white women. I hated going to an all white school untill my 10th grade year when I met three very decent teacher all of them white. They taught me that all people have good and bad in all the races, even my race. My eyes were opened but I still had to deal with my MOM because I had this huge crush on what!!!!! A white boy :crying::crying: . He would walk me home but I told him I couldn't let my Mom see him. Well one day she did and lord have mercy she called me in the house and told me she was going to fine me hanging in a tree. I sat my mother down and asked her what would she prefer me dating someone that totally respected me ,opened doors and cared about my feelings or a guy that was only out to get in my pants whether they were black whit e or chineses? She conceeded to meet Lance is that a white boys name or what??? She was so inpressed with him, but her opinion still didn't change but she never questioned my choice in boyfriends.

In this school my best friends were 1 Korean and 2 latinos and 2 caucasians no blacks. They ran in and out of my MOMs home untill I graduated. So now it really doesn't bother me at all to see a black man with any race of women. What bothers the he!! out of me is when the black man talks bad about his black queens!!! Like because he prefers a different race that our race of women are bad. His Mom was black. I also hate when a white woman acts like she has accomplished somthing big because she has a black man and downs the sisters. Because no matter what color we are, we are all sisters. I fell in love with a Jamaican man and if he had of been a white Jamaican man I still fell in love with the person not the race.

My 2 cents

Oh, crude, I'm going to start crying now. End of Titanic and Rose just figured out Jack is dead. I have a love/hate relationship with this movie.

We were watching that too JG! I cry each and every time I watch it. Another show that makes me bawl in Extreme Home Makeover Edition. I love watching the new houses, but I bawl like a baby when they move that bus!
