What are you studying? I have you beat - I haven't submitted my last two weeks of my independent study, and have another due Mon - Guess what I am doing this weekend, lol - And I have a 10 pg paper due on Fri that I haven't even researched yet.

I'm doing a 'telecourse' (kinda independent since you only have to come to campus for midterm & final) on African History. This paper is supposed to be on one of the essays in a book called 'Women in Africa' and I'm just finding it really hard to get rolling on it. I better do as well as I did on the last paper because if I'm much later, I might get dinged and only get a 'B'. I'm trying for a 4.0 (on a very slow schedule....don't take more than 1-2 classes per semester working full time) to help me should I move along to a 4-year institution. Anyway, does anyone have a formula for motivation? (I'm sure motivated when it comes to getting my honey here!)

Are you talking about the animated doll ones? THose are Meez - lots of us used to have them - click on someone's and it should take you to the site - I think it's meez.com - you have to create one, then go to your controls and post the image code into your signature.

ellis i am in the same stage as you, just ask away the ladies are wonderful about answering your questions, usually if they give you info i just print it up or have them PM( personal message) you and then you can print that, i got a manilla folder for all my stuff as im compiling it and as i read the forms i wrote down questions i had about each form on the outside of the folder, and then asked on here, as they answered my questions i filled in my folder so i could use it for reference. i also sent my SO a folder as well of the same stuff, and im surprised i mailed it on friday and he got it today that is warp speed for JA mail...LOL

Hey Ells...I'm not sure if you said so earlier in this thread, but clearly you can see that these ladies can chat, and for me to try to go back to look for the info could take all night...so how far along in the process are you? Where is your SO from?

I'm still in the 'prep' process. Just finished filling out his 325A yesterday after about 5 days of trying to piece together his life and numerous phone calls and getting incredibly frustrated with eachother. I have the rest of the K-1 package forms together though...going to e-mail the 325 & letter of intent to marry to someone in Negril or Lucea to print them out (maybe Easy Rock Cafe in Negril), have him sign and then FedEx or UPS back to me w/his passport photos and once that is done, I'll be starting my timeline! YAY!

He is from Kingsvale up in the country from Lucea (Hanover as many of you probably already know).

I have a lot of questions but don't know where to start and this 'yardie' thread moves so fast I'm afraid I might lose any info someone may put out there.

Well good luck on your process...and as for the questions, if you got 'em ask 'em...but remember when you do to check back a little more frequently for responses because they will come quickly, and they can get caught up in everything else that's going on. Alot of these folks have a lot of good knowledge about before, during, and after this process...

I wish us both the best for a speedy process! How did you mail....regular USPS or another service? Just curious because I'm a little leary of the JA postal system.

yeah i use regular mail and normally it takes my mail about 9 days to reach... ja mail does suck, and then one time i sent a box and it took a month to reach....

i dont know of any other way to send it , i dont know if DHL gets there faster or what? but just to send the folder of forms for him to sign cost me like 9 dollars and some change...i was like #######, i could have walked that to JA for cheaper than that.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and the advice already! Good to know this is more of the 'social' thread and I won't be committing any major newbie faux pas by starting topic specific threads on the visa process. But for sure I'll keep checking in on this thread cause it's too much fun!
