you know what i dont tolerate racism, of any sort and i try to teach my kids the same. i had a white guy interested in me in college and he was really sweet, i liked him and we talked all the time, but i let the intolerance of others keep me from actually dating him, when we would walk campus and this was at U of M, people would make nasty comments to us. We remained friends and he later went on and married another black female, but he is a really sweet guy and she got a really good man in him. Now that im older and have learned to let stuff roll of my back, i realize when you find love or companionship, who gives a rats azz what anyone else thinks???

MrsPalmer- you are one wise woman! Your input is always appreciated by me! You put a real spin on all the things you reply to. Thanks (L)

Thanks MrsLady...but I just don't understand why anyone would have such a big problem with it. I mean the question could also be turned around into what issues Black Americans have with marrying ANYONE outside of their own culture, and particularly from cultures that are considered "less" or more deprived than others. Some people that I know, and in my own family had issues with me marrying "a Jamaican"---like Jamaicans are lepors, or whoremonging, thieving trolls or something. It all plays in to what others people's stereotypes of people are and I have just never played into that. I honestly believe that if you find someone who is good to you, makes you happy, is honest, and is willing to do whatever he/she can to take care of you, love, honor, and respect you--then by all means PLEASE be with them--or else I WILL! I ain't passing up no good thang when I see it! Mama taught me better than that! Bottom line is you can't let others influence your decision to be happy, regardless of race, culture, creed, gender, whatever. If you do, you'll live a miserable life making everyone else happy, but YOU!

I could not agree more, Mrs. P. However, I have had some issues with people...men and women...who do have issues with exactly what Kimmy said. That is why I was wondering why she asked.

And, there is no stirring of the pot on this issues. Anyone that does have an issue with my relationship can go bit the big one cause I am not giving them the time of day. End of that story. I've heard it all before and it doesn't bother me one bit. Time has been my friend.

Well, I don't care what the race of the individuals are, as long as they respect them as men. I hate it when I hear people say, well he better do this because I made it possible for him to be here. No, that is not correct, Men should be treated like Men.

Women say that, Rox?

I was once told "leave our men alone....why you need to be up takin our brothers..."

........

LOL - I got called a white bred bytch who was in a Caribbean club to steal their man - mind you, I was in the bathroom stall and don't think they realized it - I came out of the stall and told them I was at the club to see the artist, how many states and countries I had seen him in, named his first album, and ended by telling them that if my presence in a club could steal their man, was he really their man? Then I hauled azz out of the bathroom, lol

What part Jakeswife?

well i am not sure how the conversation came about concerning black men and white women and when i read further it seem the conversation went to patois. so i thought it was created because i mention that i have a hard time reading patois.

where did it go to Patois..if it did it was maybe one line...this exactly how i talk..ppl think i'm crazy

I took it that way too, Kimmy. That's why I asked.

had nothin to do with how anyone reads patois but reactions when ppl find out others are white

why is everyone so quiet today?does this mean im gonna have to work today?

Honey, did you get the chicken stock yet?

JG -- that is ridiculous. Did Dre know it was in his name? I made Marcel disconnect everything at the house that his name was attached to. That is crazy. He had a friend that was using his name whenever he got pulled over and the last time he did it he got busted. The officer that pulled the friend over knew Marcel personally and told him that he left for the US back in July. His baxide is still sitting in jail. You know Marcel's right name is not common at all.

It makes me smile to think someone would use Marcel's name!

He knew; but had forgotten. They have been stealing water for about 5 or 6 years now. It's only the 2nd time they have been caught. Instead of his mother owning up to it, she says he's renting and doesn't know that guy. WTFever. I am not going to be pleased if something happens when we visit.
