Domicile Requirements

Hello all,

I am wondering about the domicile requirements for the US citizen. I gave up my apartment when i came to the Philippines to be with my wife while working her visa. I have reported on every immigration extension since i have been here that i was here working her visa and have been under an extended visitor visa. I have been here since September of 2007 and have been using my sister's address in the states as my state side address. I have maintained my bank account in the states and am receiving SS and a pension from General Motors. Is this sufficient to maintain my domicile status? Thanks

That should be sufficient, do mention in your forms that you will stay at your sister's place once you move back to US (it will jsut be temporary thing, for your wife's greencard to arrive)

Plus you can also use your voter card or state DV.

I would suggest getting all your bank documents sent to her address. This will help you keep a domicile in the US.

I am a wife of a US citizen, My Husband is living with me in My Country, the NVC requested the same thing for us PROOF OF DOMICILE, we just sent A Copy of his Driving liscense and a copy of his absentee voting later, and that was enough, They Just close my case In NVC.

you can send anything that have an adreess in the USA, a letter, a bill, anything, they will acepted.

I was asked the same thing. I'm a lil scared because I closed out my bank account before I came here to Egypt. I gave the embassy a copy of my driver's license, but I don't think that is enough. They still gave me a domicle paper. I have two credit cards still open that go to this address and my 2007 w-2 went to this address. My 2008 w-2 will also go to this address. Do you think that this is enough??
