CFO Seminar?

Anybody who've got married first before getting the passport?guyz i am so confused about that CFO seminar because i had a friend girl before she's got married to a foreigner first before she's getting her passport but she was used right away her husband last name without attending that CFO seminar?do i really need to attend that CFO seminar what if i did'nt and i have no CFO cert.?have any conflict for the visa process?guyzzz help please that CFO seminar....need more advise...need to know more what is the advantages or disadvantages if you have CFO cert.already or not?? :help: again....thanks VJ's member!

2007-10-12Hubby's first visit/met me and picked him up in Davao International Airport

2007-10-17Officially engaged to my one and only love hubby & formally proposed in front of my family

2007-10-22Flew back to the US

2008-02-022nd visit of my hubby and picked him up at Cebu International Airport

2008-02-04Went into the US embassy Cebu to get his certificate of legal capacity

2008-02-05Flew back together into Davao City and drove to Tagum City

2008-02-27Our awaited precious moment the WEDDING DAY!!!!

2008-03-04Hubby Flew back to the US

2009-05-013rd visit of my hubby and picked him up at Hong Kong International Airport

2009-05-02We went to Hong Kong disneyland (pretty amazing)

2009-05-03Flew back together into Manila and got his balikbayan visa to stay here with me for one year

2009-12-24First time we celebrate together the Christmas Eve (very much awesome!)

2009-12-31First time we celebrate together the New Years Eve (very much happy)

2010-01-07We celebrate together on his Birthday!

2010-01-15Celebrate together on his cutie wifey Birthday!

2010-01-25Sent I-130

2010-01-27Manila consulate received

2010-03-31I-130 approved(66 days)

2010-04-15NOA2 received

2010-04-22Packet 3 received(YaY)

You will not be allowed to leave the country without the CFO certification.

hi! you can attend cfo seminar before and after you will receive your visa. but, it is more advisable to attend the cfo seminar if you already have your visa.

If you are married and will be using your married name in renewing your passport, then you need to attend the seminar prior to renewing your passport. DFA mandates all spouses and fiances of foreign nationals to attend and get a certification of having attended the seminar prior to getting/renewing a passport or leaving the country. You will not be allowed to leave RP without the CFO seminar certificate, and the CFO sticker on your passport.

12-09-08 - INTERVIEW @ 6:30AM...God be with us! --- APPROVED!!!

12-11-08 - VISAS RECEIVED....YAHOOOOO!!!

04-07-09 - POE: Chicago O'hare

04-28-09 - received SSN's (after having to apply for them personally!!!!)

04-30-09 - Received our 2-year GREEN CARDS

01-07-09 - ROC, here we come!!!

01-18-11 - Mailed out I-751

My old passport expired 1 month before i'm getting married so i decided to wait after our wedding to renew my passpot,i didn't have to attend CFO since i'm a renewal-this time i used my husbands name.you could do same thing i did.Dont worry about CFO,after your wedding,go to CFO-just bring along your documents-then you'll be all set for applying your passport.Goodluck
