Sorry, I don't have answer to your question, but may be call up Consulate and ask them. You are a k-1 visa filer, so may be they have different rules for it. This is CR-1 visa forum.

And a request, if you don't mind, can you keep all your question in one single thread please . Not trying to get on you, but if you fill out multiple threads in the forum that sabotages other threads, which moves to other page and then they don't get attention.

So please if you can, keep all your question in 1 thread, people do reply.

The fingerprint scan is done after the pre-screening. No need for another scan in the CO's room during the interview itself. If in case you didn't go through the fingerprint scanning process, I suggest you call the US Embassy.

It's either before or after. My daughter was interviewed first {way back 2007}, then she was fingerprint scanned but then they have changed there routine. Now, it is before you report to the pre-screener. Call usem!!!!
