Two-Hole punchiness Redux

Almost 'there' !

I now have my very own two-hole punch and a box full of 'acco-fasteners'-----

I notice that some of the forms I recieved from the USCIS have the holes on the 'bottom' of the page--so that the page will be 'upside down'----

Does it matter if some pages are oriented one way and some the other?

Some of my pages have more room for the holes at one end or the other but it bugs me to think of them being some one way and some the other---am I missing something here?

WELL.. if you really want to be fancy you can buy a paper punch and make your own holes in the TOP of the forms, so they will all be rightside up, and THEN use your ACCO fasteners. :)

Come on folks! Nobody else ran into this issue? I have my own punch already as I said above---did no one else have any struggle with assembly?

I'm sorry, I have no idea what you're talking about...we filled out the forms then I punched them all across the top (even where the documents went right to the top of the page so the hole's bit into some text) and sent it off and didn't have any problems. NOTHING, as I remember it, had holes in the bottom. I'm sorry, I'm just confused about your question...but I think if i were a processor and I got a page upside down I'd be annoyed. So if I'm understanding it correctly that you have pages with hole or hole guides in the bottom I'd still just put two more holes in the top and have it all going the same way. So confused...

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

I didn't use any acco fasteners, or hole punchers.

I just put everything together neatly in envelopes/paper clips, etc.

I really don't think it's a huge deal. They're not going to RFE you because one of your pages was upside down. They're much more interested in the content of your petition.

That's not to say that things shouldn't be assembled neatly and in an understandable fashion. But don't stress out too much about it.

Two hole punch all papers and use the fasteners so a person can go through the packet and read all the documents. Then tab at the bottom.

I can't understand that one of the few times they give you clear instructions on what to do and people insist on putting things together with bubble gum and paper clips.

Well, they are called "tips" and not requirements. Plus they say to use ACCO fasteners just for thick or bulky applications, no?

Yep, those are simple tips to make the life easier for them to go through the application, it's not a requirement that you'll get denied or RFEd for lack of holes.

Exactly.

So follow the best you can, and don't worry so much.

Well since you are sending the packet to them, I think it makes good sense to follow their "tips."

Follow best you can? How hard is it to punch some holes in paper and attach a fastner and stick on some tabs.
