Ok guys, thank you all for your responces. Heres an update...

Andrew phoned the number and they told him to print off his transactions and use that, but they CANNOT sign it. For some reason....Now is this acceptable...a print out that isn't signed or stated in a letter of total amount disposited in the last year? We're going through London.

Andy can find somewhere else to notorize it, possibly kinkos. It's just that "total amount disposited" thing...

I'm a WF customer and after wasting precious time trying to get the letter I was advised by a very helpful WF represesative on how to get the letter & ASAP. It worked.

Good luck!

1.) Typed a a request letter (see sample letter below)

2.) Signed letter

3.) Faxed to my branch office (you can also e-mail the letter to your branch office rep., but it must be signed)

4.)The branch office rep will then fax the letter to the Customer Correspondence Area

5.) Exactly 5 business days later I received the letter from WF to the US Consulate with all the info I requested

Dear Customer Correspondence Area:

I need to present an official letter from Wells Fargo to the United States Consulate in City, Country with the following details regarding my account:

1. Date account opened;

2. Total amount deposited for the past year (mm/yyyy to mm/yyyy);

3. Present balance

Please note that the Consular Section of the United States Consulate, in City, Country WILL NOT accept monthly statements, year end statements, or print outs of account history as substitutes.

I MUST present a letter from Wells Fargo with ALL the details listed above.

Please address the letter to:

Wells Fargo online banking allows you to print out your last year's worth of statements. We used those for our AOS and it was just fine. They did add everything up for our K-1 letter, but maybe that was just the person I talked to that day. They do have to do it manually, and it took about a week from my request to getting the letter.
