She should go home to avoid problems if ever she will have another chance of marrying an american bcos she entered as k1.

Not just marriage but any other visa to come here.

To the OP: I agree with what others said. Make sure she leaves before the I-94 expires.

The instructions for the I-485 (adjustment of status) says under #7 of "who may use this form" That it may be used if you were admitted as a K-1 fiancé(e), but did not marry the U.S. citizen who filed the petition for you.

A guy that works for immigration told me that the government would rather just change the immigrant's status than go through deportation, etc. It sounds iffy, I know, but check out the instructions, it says it right there.

Might we just file the I-485, with the appropriate affidavits, etc, and see what happens?

No, because the quote falls under the "Who is NOT eligible to adjust status?" section, not the the "Who is...?" Perhaps some "wishful reading." :thumbs:
