I read in one forum about the 2 inches x 2 inches (2x2) picture that the embassy will not accept if you are wearing your earings in the picture.

Is this true? Because in my 2 inches x 2 inches (2x2) picture, I am wearing my earings.

Thanks in advance.

Well, on USCIS' sample photo, the woman is wearing earrings. How big is your earring btw? Is it too visible? In my opinion though, wearing big dangling earrings in the picture is inappropriate for a visa photo.

Also, if someone have encountered such a problem during her interview and posted it here for everyone's (those who are about to have their interviews) awareness, you better take precautions. You can go and have another picture taken. It doesn't cost that much compared to the delays you will encounter.

At one point there was something written at the USCIS site about no ear rings (but I think it was the dangling kind) and not to cover up the ears. All my old links no longer work so can't get back to that set of requirements

during the medical exam at st lukes they will review the photo and if it is not acceptable, you can go get a new photo. there is a passport photo studio nearby and they will direct you to it.

this is what happend with my fiance and she had no problem doing this during the medical exam appointment.

good luck

i was asked to have another set of passport pics (2x2) since i was wearing earrings in all of the pics i brought with me. the people from st. luke's told me to just submit the new pics during my interview..so yes, NO EARRINGS girl..

..but just to add one odd info, the photo i submitted was without earings but the photo used in my VISA was with one (i was wearing pearl earrings). it was the same photo i submitted with our DS230 to NVC..

weird huh..
