Mike & Julie and Azer_2000,

I was stuck in the same boat as you guys. I was a Feb 2008 VSC filer who was transferred to CSC 8/27/08...from then on there were no touches on my case while I saw all the other transfers being approved in Sept 2008.

So as soon as the CSC processing dates rolled over to 6 months, I contacted my congressman. They sent an inquiry on 10/27 and we were APPROVED on 10/31...yes today was my lucky day!!

Getting someone to make an inquiry was the only thing that rattled the cages on my case...hopefully you guys can get some results that way too.

Good Luck

Hi,

What do you mean CSC processing dates rolled over to 6 months? Is it taking longer than 6 months now? I did contact my Congressman but it was still as VSC and soon after it got transferred. So I guess I should contact them again letting them know it was transferred. What is the rule of thumb to have it processed after its transferred? Is it 30 days or 60 days?

Please advise.

Thanks.

htown,

My official receipt date on NOA1 was 2/21/08 and I was transferred to CSC on 8/27/08. Up until mid-October, the CSC processing dates were still 2/1/2008....therefore I was still not "out of normal processing times" and as a result no one was willing to make an official inquiry for me. My congressmen only agreed to do it once CSC changed their processing times to within 6 months which made my application officially "outside of normal processing".

As for the other question, I have heard others on the forum say that after a transfer, USCIS must make a decision within 90 days but I am not sure if that is an official rule.

Looking at your NOA1 date, it looks like you should contact your congressmen again because you should be outside of processing times according to the official CSC dates.

Hope that helps.

My husband hand delivered a letter to his congressman yesterday. We'll see if anything moves. I keep checking our application status on USCIS and nothing is moving.... it makes me so angry! Thanks to everyone for your advice.

MsZ,

When you said congressman Hall do you mean Ralph hall? I have also put in request to congressman hall office, let see if anything happens.

Thanks!

Hi MsZ,

Yes he filled out the form although they said at the office the letter requesting him to look into the matter served the same purpose. His congressman is Bill Young, in Florida, he sent a letter of acknowledgement today already. Hopefuly he'll be able to get some answers for us.

How is it some people get their NOA2 within 4 months of sending out their applications and we are still here waiting in the dark after over 1 year. I`m biting my lips and avoiding certain keystrokes not to swear!!!!

I read somewhere that 90 days after the transfer you should hear something. Has it been 90 days since the transfer?

I'd call USCIS and pitch a royal fit if I was outside the 90 days after the transfer. After all, the squeaky wheel gets the NOA2

Can you please let me know where you read this rule? We'd like to know since I got my case transferred to CSC on Aug. 20 and I have not heard a damn thing. Nov 20 is coming up which is almost 90 days. Also I even contacted my congressman and he inquired when it was at VSC and Congressman came back with standard message that USCIS sent...wait 6 more months.

Whats the offical rule after file gets transferred? 30 days or 90 days. Anyone got links?

Since being transferred from VSC, I called the USCIS today with the premise that our case is now outside the "6 month" CSC processing date. The prerecorded message stated to please wait at least 180 days from your transfer date before inquiring about your case. Not very encouraging.

If anyone gets a different response from an actual person at USCIS, let us know.

So I called yesterday and the first line of operator tells me its 120 days. Then she transfers me to the immigration officer and he says are you a citizen and I say yes. He then looks at my receipt number and says oh wow. He says I will write them (CSC) a letter asking why and when. Why it hasn't been processed and when will it be processed. Unfortunately system had issues and he couldn't do anything for me. he tells me to call today and I call today and now the operators are not available. I am doing all this while i am in singapore it self and have no idea what time zone the bastards are working.

More frustration...

when I spoke to the stupid confused first line of operator she tells me it was approved but the state sent it back asking for information. I am like why didn't i get an approval and why doesn't the system show that. She doesn't know why so she asks her manager and they transfer me to immigration officer who says it wasn't approved. I told immigration officer how come the other phone operator told me it was approved...he's like the system doesn't say that. Anyhow morons have no consistentcy nor knowledge of anything going on there. The process is a black box and as a US citizen we are getting the run around.

suggestion call them up again (800-375-5283 then 1 for english then *1 to speak to operator) and tell them your case got transferred on what date and you are outside the processing window. Then say WHATS THE F****** HOLD UP

then say thank you for your time :)

Last time we got touched was Oct. 23rd, after calling them to let them know we were outside processing dates....since then, nothing. I think their online case status is useless and total BULL...it just serves a purpose of giving a false sense of customer service....the 1 800 # too for that matter.

So since my last posting, I have followed up with USCIS 2 times and just Tuesday with my Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison since my local congressman told me last week they no longer are following up on any cases until start of new year.

The second time I called the USCIS I spoke to a rep first then I asked for an officer. They looked at my case saying it wasn't approved but required some background check but they will send CSC an email/letter asking what's the hold up. Yesterday I got the email saying my case was approved. I seriously doubt the email/letter made any progress...we don't know.

Bottom line...if you got transferred to CSC from VSC and after 90 days u don't hear anything .....stay on top of USCIS and tell them you need to speak to a OFFICER. They can help you understand what exactly is going on. They will say if you don't hear back in 30 days call them back.

onward to NVC. hope this goes faster.
