Hello

For some reason, I asked my husband to scan and sent a copy of the form I-130 that we sent to VSC some time in June. I found that he did some mistake on the form, my gosh, I want to cry.

That is what he did.

C. Information about your relative

1. Name (Family name in CAPS) This is where we screw up. He put my Maiden name for my last name. :crying:

and no.7 Other name Used (including maiden name) as for this, he put my married last name there.

I am just wondering if all these will make us get the reference?

Hi!

Oops... I'm afraid yes... but maybe you're lucky. Don't worry, just wait for the RFE and send the corrected form as soon as you get the letter. In some cases it's good to have RFE, because once USCIS gets it you're approved: I got one, and 5 days later I had my NOA 2.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! :star:

Not such a big deal. Just be sure when preparing for the interview to provide names on the visa application forms that are consistent with the current name you use (which should also be the name in your passport).

Thank you for your answers! I will just wait to see then.

check and see what it says on the NOA1 for the beneficiary name. as long as it is correct over there, you should be fine.

He can call the 800 number and go through the prompts to get to someone and ask if it is an issue.(I remember hearing this option whe going through the menu when calling) You can submit something(no idea what its called) to fix "typos"

A member here did something similar and got an approval right afterwards.

worth a try :D

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Yeah we already checked that and it was my maiden name but my husband called USCIS about it and told them that he wanted to change my maiden name to be married name, so they took the information, asking for his phone and email and said they will mail the change of the surname to us in 45 days, I am not sure if they will really do that but we will just wait and see.

Hmm, I am not sure. Since I am now married, should I suppose to use my married name for my family name now because I already changed my surname here to use my married name and on FORM I-130 No. 7 Other name Used (including maiden name), shouldn't I suppose to put my maiden name there?

Now I am confused.
