It depends on a lot of factors...which service center you are filing with...what time of the year you sent in the petitions...and the type of petition. I see that you have marked for a K-3 visa so I am assuming that you also filed the I-129F petition. If you filed both petitions then usually you have a chance of having your I-130 petition approved sooner rather than later because they usually approve the I-130 petition the same time that they approve the I-129F petition...or so it seems. The approval times vary. The California Service Center is approving petitions with priority dates months ahead of the Vermont Service Center. I filed at the VSC and it took about 7 months for the approval of my petitions. USCIS is suppose to keep the approvals within the time frame of 6 months but of course they don't. If you wait 6 months and still no approval start calling the VSC. Be certain that you call the VSC and not the National Service Line. Tell them that your case is outside their time frame and start writing you congressmen. You will probably be waiting for approval for several months so you might want to start looking at the documents that you need to collect for the NVC once your petition has been approved.

Sorry if this is more information than what you asked for...would rather give too much information than not enough. Good Luck!

hello i am just a member on this site, i just wanna ask how many months will you wait when you process I-130?i am curious about it..pls. do reply thank you its my first time on this forum...thank you....and i want more friends also, i am from cebu

first let me welcome you to VJ! :innocent:

the timeline in processing I-130 varies on how quick the service center and NVC works on your case before they forward it to the US embassy in manila. but the usual timelines play around 6-9months (this is a realistic timeframe) but there were some who got approved in just 3 months time. the accuracy of submitting the documents needed to facilitate the processing of your visa matters since RFEs cause so much delays as well. you can browse through timelines of members with similar visa category as yours for more infos and you can as well post queries in the forum board to cater to your other questions.

BTW, i'm from cebu too..

Someone has been kind enough to list the full instructions. See the above link. The # for the National Service Line and the VSC is the same. It all depends on the options you choose after listening to the status of your case as to whether you are transfered to the VSC or the National Service Center. The agents at the VSC are usually more helpful. Good Luck!
