There's nothing worse than a receptionist who insists you tell her what is wrong with you in a room full of other patients. Many of us have experienced this, and I love the way this old guy handled it.

An 86-year-old man walked into a crowded waiting room and approached the desk. The receptionist said, 'Hello, sir. Can you please tell me why you're here to see the doctor today?'

'There's something wrong with my #######,' he replied.

The receptionist became irritated and said, 'You shouldn't come into a crowded waiting room and say things like that.'

'Why not? You asked me what was wrong and I told you,' he said.

The receptionist replied, 'Now you've caused some embarrassment in this room full of people. You could have said there was something wrong with your ear and discussed the problem further with the doctor in pri v ate.' The man replied, 'You shouldn't ask people questions in a room full of strangers if the answer might embarrass anyone.'

The man walked out, waited several minutes and walked back in. 'There's something wrong with my ear,' he stated.

The receptionist nodded approvingly and smiled, knowing he had taken her advice. 'And what is wrong with your ear, sir?'

'I can't piss out of it,' he replied.

The waiting room erupted in laughter.

true story about four years ago

an elderly women waited for a car to pull out so that she could park she needed to back up some so that the other person could safely back out of the parking space mean while a sport car had passed the space and came around again from the other side and zipped into the now vacant parking spot while the elderly lady was trying to get into it......when the guy got out she rolled down her window and stated why did u do that u saw i was waiting for it he replied because im young and i can..........after shopping he returned and saw the back of his car all bashed in the old lady was sitting in the next parking spot with a grin on her face and her car was damaged......so the man asked her why did u do that to my car she said cuz im old and i can all they gonna do i take my license..........im old and no longer care

That's good.

I have been in a similar situation although I avoid clinics and hospitals as much as possible.

When I have told the receptionist that I would prefer to not discuss it with her unless in private, she got irritated at me...then well, it didn't go well.

They could simply hand you a piece of paper so you can write it down!!
