K1 interview extension

Hi... We received our I129 for back with a valid period from 9/15/2008 - 1/15/2009. I emailed the consulate in Brazil for a four month extension and they came back saying that the beneficiary must have the interview by 1/15/2009. We were looking for an April interview so she could come in Sept 2009. She can't come until them because of school.

What can I do?

According to the officer her petition is valid until January 15, 2009.

She will have to accomplish with her process until this date. This

petition won't be revalidated.

that is a tough one because extention of validity period is totally discretionary...

I think she should go to the interview and go from there. Or risk starting over.

It appears that you just got a NOA2, but you haven't completed the rest of the journey. If you get an interview date before January, try to ask for it to be rescheduled. In worse case, she will still have six months from an approved interview to come to the States. Best of luck!
