what do you think is the best chapstick type stuff? it's getting cold and my lips hurt :crying:

I have alba, yes to carrots, burts bees, blistex, carmex, chapstick, softlips, and I also have coconut oil which is what I use most of the time

I just googled it and Mayo clinic says:

Most people get chapped lips from time to time. Lips may become chapped for various reasons, including:

Exposure to wind, sun, or cold, dry air

Breathing with an open mouth

Licking your lips

Dehydration

Contact with irritants or allergens in cosmetics or skin-care products

There's much you can do to treat — and prevent — chapped lips. Consider these tips:

Protect your lips. Use an oil-based lubricating cream or lip balm containing petrolatum or beeswax. Before going out in cold, dry weather, apply lip cream or balm that contains sunscreen — and then cover your lips with a scarf. Reapply often while outdoors.

Avoid licking your lips. Saliva evaporates quickly, leaving lips drier than before you licked them. If you tend to lick your lips, avoid flavored lip balm — which may tempt you to lick your lips even more.

Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids, and moisten the air in your home with a humidifier.

If chapping is severe and doesn't respond to treatment at home, consult your doctor. Rarely, persistent chapped lips may indicate an underlying problem.

Well dammit I'm just never kissing anyone or licking my lips ever again. I guess I should also drink all of the 50 beverages I have sitting here next to me.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

horse manure - it may not cure chapped lips, but it will sure keep you from licking them.

I stopped using chapstick altogether some years ago...I found I had to keep using it or my lips always felt dry. Now if I do get chapped lips I just use vaseline for a couple of days...I have a huge pot so I'm not tempted to carry it around and keep applying it.

I exfoliate my lips a few times a week but dammit maybe I need to just carry around some vaseline. It can be used for other things too

I've used a chapstick/lip gloss for years. Apparently the more you use one the less your lips moisturise themselves - so it is addictive.

Personally I swear by Victoria's Secret Lip Gloss. It isn't a chap stick but I find it beats many of the ones I have used hands down. You can get it clear or ever so slightly tinted. Costs $7 a tube and lasts for ages. Smells gorgeous too.

As it doesn't have sunscreen in it I always make sure my lips are moisturised (as well as my face) with my morning SPF15 moisturiser.
