Hello everybody,

I am in the process of filling all forms for my AOS and be confused about if for the I-485 and I-130 I would need a certified copy of our Marriage Certificate or if a normal copy would also do the job of our Certificate.

On the Guideline it says certified in other posts just a copy.

We got one certified copy already but I am curious if we would need to order a second one.

Thanks in advance!

A photocopy of the true and legal document (ie.. certified copy) is acceptable...

YMMV

Thanks a lot, we will do a photo copy of our Marriage Certificate :)

It's important that the photocopy be of either an original or certified copy of the actual documents bearing the seal of the issuing authority. Typically, you would include a photocopy of a certified copy, not a copy of a souvenir copy from the actual wedding. Gotta have that official seal before you make the photocopy.

Many counties charge a nominal fee for multiple certificates (I paid $5 for 2 certifiates in Orlando) - so you can also do this - send in the original certificate and get another copy in the meantime. Good Luck
