I was just about to call it a night and head off to bed, and I had one last look at my email. There were three emails from "CRIS" - I thought they were spam at first, but then I saw the subject:

Date: Thu, 09 Feb 2006 00:00:08 -0500 (EST)

From: CRIS <USCIS-SRMT@dhs.gov>

Subject: Case Status Information for Receipt Number: LINXXXXXXXXXX

With trepidation, I opened it up, and read:

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

This case has been approved. On February 8, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Yee HAW!!!! After almost three months of waiting with no news whatsoever, we're finally on our way!!!!!

Thanks to everyone here for putting up with my moping, venting and complaining!!!!!!

K-1/K-2 AOS APPROVED IN ATLANTA MAY 17, 2006

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

Isn't that email awesome. I too had the exact thought when I saw ours, "spam". It's such an anticlimatic end to a long wait that somehow it just downplays the idea that it could actually be the real notification and then - bam. In that one second the long wait's over.
