I always hated fall in Alberta- it was so gray and depressing. That was the time of year I usually started tanning in the beds- it perked me up and I loved the warmth.

Doesn't tax time fall in that time of the year? Feel that more depressing than anything. First that huge property tax bill, than doing free book service for the state in collecting and reporting their sales tax, then federal taxes, then state income taxes.

Is there a cure for this?

I will add that I love Fall and Winter here. I hate summers though- they are hot and sticky and make me miserable.

I had a friend who used to carry around one of those lamps from class to class on a huge campus in college. It was huge though! I guess he just wanted it around for SAD emergencies?

I was diagnoised with SADD in my early 20's. My Mom has one of those lights for treatment but I don't think she uses it often. I've done the tanning bed thing on my own but it has a harmful affect on my skin. Hence I'm your British pastey color now. I find exercising helps but really I should change geographical locations for my well being. Maybe somewhere near the ocean...

The lamp does help a bit; but you need to use it daily for extended periods of time. Say 20 minutes a day every day for 3 weeks and then you feel a tad better.
