my I130 and I129 were recently approved. now the choice is to pursue I130 or I129 (K3)? does anyone have any suggestions on which way is best, fastest, etc.. I am petitioning for my wife in Dominican Republic. I am told that DR has an excessive interview wait time (9 months +). However, I don't know if that wait time is for a K3 or I130. I have been unable to find any info on current interview schedules related to DR. Does anyone have any information or suggestions on which way is best? I know that K3 is generally more expensive. however, if the schedules are close to each other i would choose I130. however, if K3 is significantly quicker, then i would consider K3. does anyone have any advice, in general and especially related to DR?

DR has been known for excessive interview lead times when the consulate schedules the interview (hint: K-3), but recently it was reported when NVC schedules the interview (I-130) that the lead time has dropped. I am not sure if it is 100% valid, but it was reported this way.

YMMV

I would say CR1!!! You have lots of posts about this on VJ, just look for them and read the guides. We were thinking about going with the K3, but after we knew all the CR1 advantages we changed (cheaper, you don't need Adjustment Of Status, can work in the US right away, etc).

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!! :star:
