Btw, I met my husband in 2004 thru YM and we started as friends too just like yours until we had a mutual understanding in 2006 and planned to marry in 2008. We do not have the copy of our chats, emails or anything on the time i met him online but he stated on his oath that we do not have copy of those evidence by the time we met each other.

i never realized this before (years, years back) people always have this impression on me (yelling) coz i use ALL CAPS everytime i send emails and chat online..

anyways, going back to the topic..

just present to the pre-screener and CO whatever evidence of re;ationship you have, don't make up anything just to please either of them, this may cause you some trouble. just tell them if they ask how eveything began and how it evolved..just be honest and sincere about everything. you'll nail it as long as they see nothing's wrong.

I don't think they will deny you cause of that.

there are so many couples here who didn't save emails or stuff like that when they first met .

so i don't think it wont be a problem. just like people say be honest and show them all the evidence you have .

they might not ask you about evidence of 2007 at all

Don't think that's a problem at all.

Your relationship grew over time, heck, there are folks

that have a shorter time frame than February (me) in meeting their fiancee.

paint works good too. you can paste the entire screenshot and then narrow down the area you want and repaste that into another paint program.

You say you were denied. If so, they gave you a form. What does it say for the denial on the form? I'm just wondering if there is something else other than this chat and email thing. The things you presented, from 2007, are fairly recent, and you say you've been there not that long ago.

You said you met in 2007. The fiance visa requires that partners must have met WITHIN 2 years from the date the petition was filed. So you technically meet the requirements. It said must have met and not must have a relationship, that is, romantic relationship.

I know someone back in June 2008 from the Philippines where I came from who met her partner online for only a month. The guy immediately filed a petition for her. The girl was approved after a very brief interview at the US Embassy in Manila. She did not even receive the pink slip which delays the delivery of the visa and the passport. She got the visa ON THE SPOT. That was unbelievable, yeah? I felt jealous, I thought it was unfair, but hey, it happened!

So the others who responded to you were right. Just be honest. If you can retrieve proofs for your 2007 encounters, better but if not, proofs of 2008 encounters are fine. You've MET WITHIN 2 years from the filing date of the fiance visa application, that's the no. 1 requirement according to USCIS. And another important thing is that you have formalized the relationship, you are not merely friends, you are ... how do you call that ... lovers/boyfriend & girlfriend/fiance and fiancee. There is now a RELATIONSHIP.

I brought the following to my interview, some of which came from my American citizen fiance: copies of emails, photos, copies of telephone bills reflecting his telephone calls, letters, cards. Not of all them were asked for but I brought them all anyway.

Dont worry about it to much. How many people keep records of each person they talk to from the first time they meet. If you did it looks like a scam. My fiance and I met months before we decided to be in a relationship and we didnt have any evidence of IM's from the time we first talked and everything was fine with our case. Dont worry about it to much. Just present what you have and if they question it just say what I just said.
