.............. As opposed to Barack Obama taking PLO terrorists out to dinner and learning a new perspective on the Middle East situation.

During the 1990s, while he served as chairman of the International Republican Institute (IRI), McCain distributed several grants to the Palestinian research center co-founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars.

A 1998 tax filing for the McCain-led group shows a $448,873 grant to Khalidi's Center for Palestine Research and Studies for work in the West Bank. (See grant number 5180, "West Bank: CPRS" on page 14 of this PDF.)

The relationship extends back as far as 1993, when John McCain joined IRI as chairman in January. Foreign Affairs noted in September of that year that IRI had helped fund several extensive studies in Palestine run by Khalidi's group, including over 30 public opinion polls and a study of "sociopolitical attitudes."

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I'm no racist...and I'm no socialist.....but I can tell you I prefer racists to socialists. The racists are just hateful - but the socialists want my money.

I thought McCain and all Republicans hated Arabs, Muslims, and anyone who isn't white and Christian?

Pretty easy decision, until you're the one having the racism aimed at you. Then your livelihood is at stake, not just your money.

Not big on empathy, eh? (putting yourself into other people's shoes)

We know VW isn't, but I have hope for you.

I could understand the need for these rallies...about 50 years ago.

But today, we have access to more information than we ever had before (although people still don't know ANYTHING about Senator Obama).

I mean, it's not like either of them is going to do much more than say what they've already said.

It's not like people are going to either parties rally in order to make a decision...the decisions have been made.

Sure there's a few undecided voters, but if they haven't been swayed either way by the media, I doubt the crowds will be their voice of reason.

Finally, as far as one side showing up to yell at the other side...isn't that kind of like Pepsi fans going to the Coca Cola factory and chanting,

"We love Pepsi...Pepsi is the only way".

Well, it does make for good entertainment, and it shows just how far some people have not come.

This nation will have a lot of healing to do after the election.
