Hi All

I thought I would quickly share my interview experience here for those who may be interested.

I was scheduled at 9.15 and got there about 8.50. Went into the room handed my letter in to the lady at the little window and sat and waited. About an hour later a man came out with an armful of files and called a bunch of names out, mine included and we went to a different floor and office and I waited again. About 1/2 hour ish later I was called in.

The officer I had was a very nice friendly man, and he asked me first to raise my right arm and take the oath to tell the truth etc.

That done I sat down and he started to look through my papers. He asked for my passport, green card and driving licence. Asked me to write a very simple English sentence ( which he laughed about as I am from England so if I failed that then there was a serious problem...lol) I read a very simple sentence to him also.

He then went to his computer and clicked on something which apprently randomly generates the civics questions. I have to say, if you know your stuff that part is very easy. 10 questions and you have to get at least 6 correct. Just learn everything that is in the booklet you are given and it will be a piece of cake. I got 10 correct.. :innocent:

Then he went through all the questions on the application form. Just gave the same yes/No answers and I havent been out of the country since filing, so nothing to add there.

He actually thanked me for having an organised file submitted, and because I had sent in evidence with my application about my marriage, he had looked over it all before I got there so didnt need any further clarification of that. I had actually taken some more recent bills with me but he didnt ask for anything new. Just as a side, when I submitted the application I wasnt sure about what to send in as it felt like I was just duplicating everything from the i-751 and that seemed pointless. But I did send some of the same stuff in , but not as much. No photos and stuff like that this time, just some more bills and recent tax returns, updated health insurance coverage, etc.

After he had gone through the application form, he basically told me that he had approved me for citizenship. I think their boss has to rubber stamp it, but I got the letter saying I was approved. He told me offically they have 90 days to inform you about the oath, but at the moment people are hearing within 30 days if not sooner. I am keeping my fingers crossed as I really want to have it done so I can go home for Christmas.

So that was basically it. The IO was very very nice and polite and friendly, and although I was nervous, because I just always am when it comes to immigration, if you have all your ducks in a row, you should have nothing to worry about.

Hope this is useful to someone.:D

I will post again when I hear about the Oath.

FYI, sent in app at start of May, finger prints couple of weeks later, and then heard about the interview date in middle of August, for an OCtober interview.

thanks, and good luck and best wishes to you all

Jelly
