For those who have had their interview at Vancouver consulate how soon were you issued your visa after the interview? I was told as long as nothing goes wrong with the process it is issues the next day. My fiance is going in three weeks and I was just wondering how every else who has been, how their experience went. Sorry if that did not make sense it is hard to type what I am trying to ask.

I just really am curious how long it took to get your visa from your interview date?

If you haven't found the embassy/consulate reviews section yet, then click this link.

Embassy/Consulate Reviews

Just scroll down and check the ones for Vancouver. There are a number on there that are quite recent, and I have found them very informative as well as entertaining as I prepare for Montreal.

To your question, it appears that some can be picked up the next day, or get in the mail a couple of days later.

Good luck!!

That was very helpful, thank you so much for that site! I was not aware of it, but I feel much better about my fiance going to the interview now. Still a little worry, but I think I will be alright. I am just excited to think he will be here within 3-4 weeks!

Our interview was on Tuesday Sept. 16th and we picked ours up the same day because the Vancouver consulate is closed on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. The lady made a huge exception for us (and only us, there were two other K1 couples there that day and they were all told to come back on Thursday to pick it up). If you are going to be there on November 18th, remember to plan to be in Vancouver until Thursday night, just to make sure. We had already bought plane tickets to fly back Wednesday night, so we were really lucky that they were able to give it out that day.

Good luck at your interview! Our interview was extremely simple...just make sure you're very well organized and you have every they ask for right away. They asked us four questions: how we met, when we planned on getting married, what he does for a living, and what I do for a living. Then they told us we were approved.

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

ugh great so now he wont be getting it wednesday because its the 3rd tuesday he has his interview blah! im not sure if he can stay until thursday though because he has to take time off from work and his friend is driving him and will have to take time off from work also. i am a very organized person and put all the papers in order and into a giant folder to mail to him. his mom is keeping that save so he should be all set with having everything. those are very easy questions. if you do not pick your visa up in person do you know how long it takes them to mail to you? and thank you for your response.
